That first line looks like they have something there. All three of those guys can skate well. I never really though pascal had the hands for a first liner but watching that goal he sunk makes think twice...

I've always liked Pascal. He's always hustling and working hard. He's great on the forecheck and has been getting some timely goals this year.
It was a nice win yesterday and hopefully we'll get another one today and keep it going in to the playoffs.
Speaking of the playoffs, I'm all prepared for them.....
Picked this up yesterday, got it all put together and into my basement:
Screw cases....I have beer on tap now. Woot.

I've been biting my tongue on this subject, but Goligoski is absolutly horrible. At least he used to skate hard. Now he can't win battles, coughs up the puck on the pp, total bs passes on the pp. His shots always get blocked. He looks like a little girl out there. Not worth over 1 million in 09. You can see how low his confidence level is....and they say he's the future quarter back for this team? Thats scary.
It'd be nice if Letang would hit the net tonight. I think he's like 1 for 5 for just getting it on net through two periods. Ugh......

My brother and I counted 18 shots not on net tonight. Deffinitly not our night...
Thinking about D still. I think Eaton is playing well and over looked this year.
hey man, i think i've mentioned my opinion twice in this thread ... i know my coworkers know how i feel.... i have been raging on about him all season ... the oppposition has to love him being on the PP.... you KNOW he's not going to shoot... so the 4 guys can just cover other ppl... or, when they pressure him, he gets nervous and fumbles it everywhere... ugh........

Hopefully they're gettin the losses out of their system before the playoffs, lol. They didn't look that good last night.

Exactly the way I see it. They have to respect gonch at least on the pp. That creates room for a shot to get through. Last night errey made a good point how TB's PK was just holding their positions and goligoski was just showing his lack of running a pp. I can't just blame him though since no one seemed to be able to slow everything down. Leopold seemed the most confident and able from the outside, which isn't saying too much at the moment...and Letang was putting holes in the glass all night. Frustrating.
Something tells me after the private meeting with Bylsma the pens will be a completly different team on Saturday. They better be because Atlanta is going to be all over the ice fighting for a spot!
True and True....
I really like Letang... he's constantly missing the net, but the talent is there... remember, he came to the league as an offensive defenseman, and has turned into one of the best DEFENSEMAN on our team.... you can tell from his shot that the talent is there, but i think he's trying to hard to pick a spot.... he spends a lot of his own time after adn before practices working on it, so its going to come around.... i think he just needs to shoot for the 4'x6'... and forget trying to hit the 4"x4" spot at the upper right corner... if he does, a coulpe will start making their way through...
I was actually really hoping that the Pens would trade Goligoski at the trade deadline... I think his stock is still really high among most of the league.... and like i said, i've never really liked him much... so i'd liek to sell high..... especially since we're such a deep team on the defensive side...

even in our wins, the pens just don't look liek the same team without Malkin.... I think he just makes the team tick... if you recall last year, when Crosby was out for so long, the team went on just fine.... but when Geno is out, the team just does not seem to have that spark...

tonight is most certainly a big game.... we need to show that we can beat these guys, not just take them to OT
honestly, as scary as the Caps are, something tells me that they're just not a playoff team.... Plum's own R.J. Umberger agrees... http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl,231973

well we had the hop, but not the d. Goligoski's blow out cost us a goal, and fluery let in a soft one. Those dont go in it's an o-t game.
Why can't we beat good teamns? How are we knocking on 100 points this season?
We came out tonight all fired up and still got romped.
I have been pondering the same thing John, but here's a few thoughts of mine....
As stated before, this team just doesn't seem the same without Geno...
Furthermore, as previously stated, Gogo has been nothing but trouble... and for God's sake, please take him off the PP...
I think you need 2 things to be successful on PP.... 1. puck moevment 2. traffic in front... Gogo doesn't help with either of these... I think they need to put Malkin back on the point with Gonch... Have Crosby work teh 1/2 wall and behind the net... put Ponikarovski infront of teh net... and hey, why not get another big body infront of the net.... i like Guerin on the PP... he seems to be a good puck retriever, and seems to be in the rigth place at teh right time... but i would TRY putting another big body infront of the net... My first instinct would be Staal, but i think they want him on the 2nd PP unit.... so why not try Rupp? He's not someone you'd usually think of, but he doesn't need to be a sniper... he a HUGE guy, and uses his size well... not real skilled with his stick, but he knows it, and uses his body to box out really well... He'd be a BIG body in front, and he's good at puck retrieval...
I've never played a day of hockey in my life... but over the last 6-8 years that i have been a huge fan, i've taken keen notice to what works (for those who do it best) and what doesnt work (for those that don't do it so good)..... it seems obvious to me... but like i said, i'm not a pro.. i'm not the coach....
Lets just hope they pull it together for teh playoffs... Its gonna be a tough road coming from the 4 spot.....
Go Pens!

I agree with rupp. I actually thik he has more talent than most think, and he seems to play smart.
Malkin is missed. Not even on the pp but even strength as well. He may not be putting up 08-09 numbers, but he's another sniper the oposition needs to keep an eye on.
I still don't know why this team loves goli. so much. I know shero is kicking himself for not doing a little different with his d heading into the P/O's. How bout Leopold though? At least he was getting shots through! I hope he starts to shine soon, looks like he's on his way (crossing my fingers, Lol).
Congrats to sid! Man I'm feeling the P/O's coming. You boys ready??? Lets go Pens!
