Who else is pumped about the '09/'10 season for the defending Stanley Cup Champions??? I would do anything to go to tomorrow's game and see the banner get raised, but tickets are just toooooooo expensive... That's why i bought a big expensive plasma! :)

TSN ranked us #1 in their power rankings, the 4th period put us at #2. Not that it means anything once we get out on the ice. I think our chances for improving over last year's regular season are pretty good.

Can we start the MVP chants for Geno yet?

I personally think we've only improved from last year as a team...

Scuderi and Gill were big losses... i know a lot of people hated Gill, but he served a purpose and i think he did his purpose pretty well..... However, i think Gogo and McKee will fill those spots well and we still have the rest of the core intact.... Talbot will be back in late Nov or early Dec ...

Only noticeable losses on offense were Sykora and Satan... i really like Petr Sykora, but unfortunately he went dry at the end of the year last year, and when it comes down to it, you get paid to score goals.... As far as Satan goes - he started off soooooo hot last year, and i think that gave people a false sense of what kind of player he was... however, in the playoffs, i think he played well and if we could have got him for cheap, i think it would have been a good move to bring him back... O well i guess....

I am looking forward to another MVP worthy season for Gino!! :D

Pretty intense way to start off the year, with the introduction of everyone, the tribute n recap of last season, the banner, and all the trophies! Pulled the win off n they didn't look to shabby at all too!! Started off better than the Steelers, lol.

Yeah the game was sloppy at first which I expected to see. Then things shaped up. Goligoski is maturing, that Rupp guy seems to be a big body that can use that to his advantage. Kunitz was hitting everything in sight. Fedetanko and malkin seemed to be playing well, as well as fleury.

The rangers look like they have some work to do...

Anyone else get tickets to see the banner go up and to enjoy the last home opener in the Mellon? It was amazing.

I thought Rupp looked pretty good. I saw him block a lot of shots, which I heard he does a lot of. Mckee didn't impress me much but it is still early. I thought they cycled the puck well and their passing looked much improved over the start of last season.

I'm pumped that it is hockey season again. I'm ready for the game tonight!

    Lets go Pens!

Haha. We can hope for improvement but I would doubt it. Hey, you never know though, anything can happen.

There are a ton of games on tonight. Got to love NHL center ice!

That was rough. Sloppy play all around, blind passes and no patience. Gogo looked awful and that is an understatement.

Lets hope they make a statement in Philadelphia tomorrow.

I like what i'm seeing so far.... Gino seems to be off to a bit of a slow start, and can't seem to stay out of the penalty box, but it'll be ok....

That game against phoenix was just an energy saver for philly imo, I do think as a whole they look good and seem to have big time depth in the forward position. Nice to see all these lines scoring.
