Ordered BF Goodrich G-Force T/A™ KDW

Well, after much deliberation, tires have been ordered from Tire Rack.
    http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/overv...=TSS&WT.si_x=6

I'm not sure if this is a good choice or not compared to my narrowed options.

It was between the tires above and the following:
Hankook Ventus V-12 EVO (Tire Rack)
    NITTO INVO (Discount Tire Direct)
Falcon Azenis RT 615 (Discount Tire Direct)

The Falcon would have been the best traction, the Hankook would have been the best bang for the buck tire.

In the end, and after much wishy-washy confusion.... the BFG G-Force T/A KDW is what was ordered.

Opinions? What would you have done? The Kumho Ecsta SUPRA tires on it are not a viable option for traction, they are slippery to say the least. I tried talking to local tire shops, but they have no clue about real world traction while trying to put 500 RWHP to the ground.... they just spit out tire names and prices.

the kdws are a nice corner tire if you ask me, they have a super aggressive tread pattern, but are not real good straight line tires espesially on a termy.. there arent many good tires to run on the street on a big hp termy..

My BFG KDs did ok with the ported blower (480rwhp) so you should be happy with the KDWs. Just watch out because the first 20 miles I put on my tires when new were like driving on ice.

Would not have been my choice, but let us know.
I would only use a drag radial at that power level.
    What size?

What size did you get? I had the 315-35-17s and I loved them. Now I have them in 295-30-18 and I love these too. I don't know why people say you need drag radials with 500rwhp. With my ported blower (around 500rwhp) 2nd gear hooked. My car hooks in 2nd now with the built motor, cams, full exhaust, and 20psi ported Eaton. The only time I had traction problems with the BFGs was when I had my KB running 17lbs, it would spin the 315s in 2nd a little, but only if it was cold out.
These are great tires. Much much better than my shitty ass Sumitomo 315s that would spin in 3rd when I had the KB.

This video is with my KB at 17lbs and I was running the 315-35-17 KDs. 2nd gear, full traction.

Well, after calling and talking with the folks at Discount Tire and at Tire Rack, I decided to make a change in the plan. Since Tire Rack shipped the tires the day the order was placed, I will refuse to accept them and pay shipping to return them. Then it will be the Hankook Ventus V-12 EVO that get re-ordered from Tire Rack.

Both companies agreed that for a car not ever to see wet roads, the Hankook is going to deliver more traction on dry pavement than the BF Goodrich. I don't need rain tire performance, this is not a daily driver.

I will report back what is noticed from the Hankook tires in comparison to the Kumho SUPRA tires.

FYI - I ordered the same size as what is on it now, 275-35-18.

I'd still consider the Nitto 555 RII 305/35/18, its like a drag radial compound with a stiffer sidewall and a little more depth.
I ran the regular Nitto 555 in 275/35/18 up front and regular Nitto 555R drag radial in 305/35/18 in the rear.
Absolutely loved them, got 12k miles wear (nice weather DD) and were pretty good in the rain (obviously you have to be smart, but WAY better than my BFG DRs in the rain).
Anyway, I had those tires above on my '04 Cobra at 456/465 rear wheel numbers.
    Only tires I'd consider personally.
Well, I'd actually try the Toyo 313/35/18 Proxes TQ drag radial and matching Toyo T1R fronts if I still had my Terminator.
Sure, you don't NEED drag radials, but why not?
You'll never use that power otherwise.

Thats how my car hooks. Just make sure the tires are up to temp first. hehe No 4th to 3rd down shifts to hit the KB in its sweet spot because she will light them up and make the rear end dance with the twin disk clutch.

If those r the same Hankook's my buddy got on his 99' SVT Cobra, they seem to be pretty sticky for a street tire. Which surprised me after he baked the crap outta of'em at the track. I'm runnin 555R extreme DR's n they hook well. More the horsepower the sticker the tire, the better traction.

They are much stickier on the street compared to the Kumho Ecsta Supra.

    So you got the Hankooks?
I was really pleased with my V-rated Hankook snow tires on the Contour.
First time I've tried Hankook but so far I'm impressed.
Unfortunately I'll probably be putting them on this weekend :(.

Yes, I got the Hankook Ventus V-12 EVO on the rear. They slicker than snail jizz for the first 20 miles, I think its the shipping protectant that is on them to make them shine and all. On the track at the Flash Light Drags they appeared to fail misserably at hooking up.... but at home here where I have been using the Ecsta Supra tires and can draw a good comparison... I can say that the Hankook Ventus V-12 EVO is for sure better at hooking up the power of the car. Don't get me wrong, they are not drag radials and yes I can still destroy 1st gear and depending on road surface.... at times I can destroy 2nd gear.... but I have yet to see the Hankooks let loose in 3rd at all, and on the rougher finished roads they will bite down and hook in mid way through 2nd gear if you play with the throttle a bit.

I am very happy, for $174.... you can not ask for more! Recomended!
