    Motor swap on my DD

    Well I was told my dd has a bad motor. It is a 2001 pontiac grand prix with the 3100 motor.The number 4 piston had a knock and well it is cheaper to buy a new motor than rebuild this one. So I was told. The knock goes away when the 4th spark plug is pulled. Can any one help me out? The shop I take it to said no less than 550 to 1000 just to rip it apart and diagnose it!! So should I buy a used one for 600 comes with a 3 month warranty. If so any one want to swap it out for me? I will provide food beer and cash.

    see what they have avail.
    sounds pretty reasonable for motor though. if interested i could swap the motor at my shop but i don't want to steal from the advertisers here.

    Man I wish I would of known!! Oh well. %00 for the 3400 is good except for the ones on car-parts.com come with a warranty.
