I have run the Brad Penn 10w30 in my '68 428CJ for the past year - only 200 miles though. My oil pressure seems a bit lower than it was when I ran the Rotella, which makes sense due to the lower viscosity. I believe Brad Penn recently changed there line up to include more viscosity choices. 10w40 BP was not available 1 year ago. I also add a product called ZDDPlus to both of my classic shelby crankcases. http://www.zddplus.com/

I have no complaints with the Brad Penn or the Rotella. No differences in oil consumption. The Rotella dropped the API "L" spec recently and joined the others at the M level API spec. M is the new spec that has reduced zinc and phosphorous that clogs the catalytic converters. Adding the ZDDPlus takes any oil used back to the "F" API spec. The ZDDPlus is the most amazing stuff at loosening stuck bolts or lubricating anything I have ever seen. Royal Purple is currently still at the "L" spec, which is what I run in my '94 Cobra.

    Rodeheaver,

Valvoline has a "Not for street use" race oil that is the original high zinc formula. I go down to the Valvoline shipping dock in Leetsdale (on Ohio River Blvd. (Rt 65) North, about 14 miles North of Pittsburgh) and buy it straight off the dock. It's hard to find in stores. They have a couple weights of it also.

I ran this in my $30K sled pulling engines, 1,000 HP Ford BB, 521ci, 9,000 RPM.

We use Brad Penn racing oil in all flat tappet cars at work. Regular Brad Penn oil has low zinc.
