    MAF question

I bought a 75 mm pro-m maf calibrated for 30 lb injectors for 94-95 5.0 cars. does it matter what style of intake I go with(fox vs sn95) for this? I had someone tell me it wouldnt work with the different style intake, but I'm not sure why that would be. if anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it.

    thanks, Mike

intake doesn't matter but is the meter for cold air or stock. Whatever it is use that style filter for it.That sometimes will affect it

It would be calibrated for stock (air filter on end) or cold air (90* bend going into fender). Like already said make sure to use setup leading into the MAF that it was calibrated to.

You will probably need a new dynotune after your head/intake swap anyway. Your tuner can probably tune for all the changes at once. You could trying PMing Don Lasota - he has seen/tuned so many combos that he could probably help you out.

All the cold air cal is is basically a screen at the entrance of the meter. If its there, leave it there. It "straightens" the air so to speak. Like a water faucet with a screen and without one.

CFM is CFM reguardless of where its coming from, wick is right that screen gives you laminar flow instead of turbulent through the meter. its supposed to give you a near constant velocity across the cross sectional area. it will help correct any turbulence made by the air filter or whatever is in front of the MAF
