    Tires..

Well, since I'm gonna throw some sandbags in the car for the winter, I figured id throw some tires on the back of the car for winter...not being much of a tire person, i'm just guessing I couldnt find a descent, cheap snow tire in a 245/45 /17?

if not, im just looking for either that size(2) or 2 275/40/17's..PM me with whatcha got and a price! thx!

Man you need to buy a beater car! Look on craigslist you can find cheap ass cars for under a grand. I'd never let the snow and salt hit my car.

A friend of mine is selling his grandma's 91 plymouth acclaim for $500. the car has under 90,000 miles, good tires, newer brakes, newer exhaust and it's inspected until 06/10. All it needs is washed. He said for that price he is not touching it!
1999 35th Anniverary Limited Edition! To many goodies to list! But cant leave out Mr. Kenne Bell!

Go and buy 4 blizzak's and be done with it. Buddy of mine drove his stang around for 4 winters and never any problem with blizzak's.

its blizzaks or nothing. I ran those on my 300zx last year and was able to go anywhere. all the other snow tires suck bad... winterforce, general artic, michelin etc. they are just like normal tires with big blocks of tread. trust me... you need blizzaks. I have 4 blizzak tires that are brand new but they are 225/50/16 inch.

a good idea for the winter is to run a smaller tire. that way you have more weight per square inch. so a 205 tire will get you more traction than a 285.

if you want tires come visit me at firestone and ill see what i can do for you with some bridgestone blizzaks

    I'm with this guy.
Best mods you can do for your stang is buy a winter beater
If your smart, you can find a good deal, drive it all winter and sell it in the spring for a small profit.
I did that for like 6 years from HS to college.

As far as snow tires go, yes narrower is better.
I have V-rated Hankook W300 Ice Bears on the Contour and love them.
First snow tire I ever bought was when I moved here.

If you do decide to go with snow tires do all four. Just putting them out back is a bad idea.

That is what I use in the winter and never ever an issue. Toss about 120lbs of tubed sand in trunk be done with it. If weather is real bad I have another 120lbs I could use and make SUV's look sad in the snow :) I run mine from Nov-Mar and this is 5th season for them.

Don't just put something on the rear only. These cars will just push straight.
