finally finally finally a decent Saturday. got the bike out of the basement and arranged the bike and quad in the garage where I normally keep co. car in winter. that will be my motorsports section for the summer months. co. car can sit in driveway. gotta get bike cleaned up, tires checked, oil checked, nuts/bolts checked... should be ready after tomorrow. probably won't make it north of PGH, but if you guys head south or east sometime, let me know.

Got my first bike last weekend, It's not a HD but I couldn't pass up the deal for $350. And not riding a street bike before I'd rather start out on something that I don't care if I lay it down or beat it up.

Anyways it's a 1992 Honda Shadow VT1100. It needs a lil work, like fork seals, seat recovered or replaced and tires. I had to pull the carbs and clean them as it sat for 2 years. But after cleaning the carbs and replacing the plugs it fired right up. It also has aftermarket cobra pipes on it.

What do you guys think?

this is a cool Honda VFR800 if you're still looking. I always like the anniversary models... love the '05 GSXRs in dark blue, light blue and white like the '85s.

I like it as a first bike. Congrats! and like you said if something happens where you lay it down you're not going to be freaking out that you spent a ton of money on the bike.

WOW ... that's a great looking bike for $350!!! GREAT FIND!!

If you upgrade down the road that bike would make a great cafe or bobber project!

I hear you, i put about 100 miles on today and it felt great. This is the first spring I had a bike to bring out and it feels scary fast again I definitely need new tires though.
