was it the black '09 with the clubman bars?

how much were they asking? it's incredible what some dealers are advertising. I'm tempted to pick another one up.

Get this, anybody know the road between the other side of Scottdale at the Sunoco station that runs past the garbage dump and Southmoreland HS? I think it might be called Water St.

Anyway, well, I was coming the other way tonight from Mt. Pleasant towards Scottdale. I come up to that funny 90* bend to go kinda straight right at the HS. I got the stop, so I'm waiting on traffic. A guy in a Ford Focus (not the cool SVT one, a regular slow one) gives me the straight, fvcking stink-eye. I pulled out behind him. He THOUGHT he was going fast down that road and showing me some skills, I guess. He was pushing that FOCUS to it's limits and I was about 5 car lengths behind him. ONLY because I thought he was going to crash and I did not want to run into the Ford bits and pieces on the road. I was giving maybe 50-60% to keep up and still enjoying the scenery. I could hear his tires squealing around the turns.

WTF is wrong with people? He's probably on his facey pages and tweety twats telling all his friends how he smoked a sportbike on the ride home from work.

    LOL LOL LOL !!!

Ok - so troll, you asked for it... its tiem for me to rant....

So i was FINALLY getting to putting my CRF450R motor back together... i decided it had sat long enough, and i really only have time to work on it about 30 mins to 1 hour at a time... its been taking me a while, but i was finally getting somewhere....

got the whole motor back together and the last things to put on are the flywheel and stator ... i follow the manual to a "T" ... put the flywheel on, ptu the washer and nut on, set the torque wrench at 47 ft lbs. and begin to turn... i don't get even 1/8th of a turn and without warning, it gets really soft... MOTHER ****ER!! the end of the crankshaft snapped off!!!!! WTF??? i'm sooooo ****in pissed abotu this shit... now i gotta tear it back down and spend MORE ****in' money to get a new crank and get this bitch running... money i really don't wanna spend, now that i'm building this house and have other places that my money is tied up in..... ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

    /rant...

On a good note - well, i don't have a good note... damn cold and rainy so i can't even ride the R1

that's crazy talk. I'm no bike mechanic by any sense of the word, but 47 ft.lbs. seems hella high to me? maybe inch lbs? not trying to say you didn't follow the manual to a "T", but maybe it was wrong?

doesn't matter either way. that just plain old sucks. wasn't following the 450 blowed up thread. was it a Honda crank or aftermarket?

R1? can't ride? naked/plastic bikes are a lot easier to clean than ones with chrome. trust me. I tried that for a while.

I saw a guy at the Smithton truckstop a few months ago on a black CBR1100X (?) and it was filthy --- stinking bugs and dirt just filthy. I waited for him to come out to talk to him. I said, "Where the hell did you go?" He said, "What? this? I just haven't washed it in a few YEARS!!!"

    no kidding.

It was the factory Honda crank... the reason for the teardown was that the left crankcase got split in about 4 places... now this... garrrrr...

here's a pic of the manual - i know it seems like a lot, but that's what it says
