Different stokes for different folk.
You may get off hugging curves for a few hours on a sunny Sunday. Me I get off riding 2400 miles in 4 days, but I'm not going to insult your riding preference.
BTW I would thoroughly enjoy watching you tell a few 1%er grand pap's what you really think of them and their old ladies!
Point proven.....
I can only speak for myself, but I was not insulting anyones riding preference. When I used to own my 6R, my two main riding buddies owned a Honda Shadow and a HD 883.
I could care less what anyone rides, as long as they ride. I wave at anyone and I have rode with all types. I like riding into corners, going on long distance rides, and commuting. Yes, I do that all on my Jap liter bike. You can ride one bike in many different ways. I rode with my buddy out to Indy and back on my R1 (a little over 1000 miles) without breaking a sweat and in no pain at all. This year, I'll probably be doing the same ride with a few of my uncles on their Harleys.
What I do have a problem with is the typical SCS BS with worthless posts in a fun thread with a deliberate attempt to derail it. Is it any wonder why people do not visit this board like they used to?
The "this thread went to rice" comment was actually the first insult at what people ride in this thread. Before that very insightful post, we were all shooting the shit about all types of bikes and riding habits, Harleys included. Inkdcountryboy, like the rest of us, can appreciate all types of bikes.
It's the "rice" comments and "bleed American" mentality that creates stereotypes for Harley riders.
Ride safe all and have fun. Spring is right around the corner.

I was busting balls. Could care less what anyone rides.
Try untwisting the panties!
My mirror shield was much easier to see out of at night. But then after the finish started to fade everything went to hell...
When I ride I almost always have my riding back pack. I keep my clear shield in there and switch it at night. I used to ride with the smoke one tipped up enough to see, then I took at firefly to the face at 85 and have switch to clear ever since. lol

I got my first ride of the season in on Saturday....
changed oil/filter, made sure everything was good to go, and went out for about an hour after the Pens game...
Got some new gear for this year as well:
-Alpinestars GP-Plus coat
-Alpinestars SP-1 gloves
-Bell Cerwinske Carbon helmet with the visor that has "Transitions" technology, so it changes from dark to clear depending on the light conditions....
After only putting maybe 200 miles on the bike last year, i've had a renewed spirit to get out and ride this year....

On my last helmet, i didnt' even have a clear visor - all i had was a mirror shield, and though it wasn't the worst thing on earth, it also wasn't great.... Riding in the city wasn't so bad, but if you were in the country, you HAD to tilt it up....
Honestly, it didnt bother me much, as i like having some air in my face anyhow, so i didnt mind tilting it up at night...
My helmet now (as mentioned above) transitions back and forth from dark to clear... the dark was plenty dark enough for me - just as dark as the mirrored one on my old helmet was... so far, no complaints except the cost of the darn thing...

I wanted to throw this out to you all.

This is a great deal and if you've never road with Bluetooth I highly encourage you to check out the technology!
I bought F5 Interphone for my Florida ride last fall and being able to to talk on the phone, intercom between riders, listen to my iTunes and GPS made the ride that much better! Even while riding locally I use it for music, which sounds WAY better than my J&M speakers.
I just sold my never used HBC200 for $115 shipped. If I wasn't the only one out of my buddies that had one I would have kept it. Definitely would be sick to ride around and talk to everyone with the intercom.
I'm gonna try and find one that is decent but cheap enough that I can convince my buddies to get.
