Paint Question

Ok..i just ordered at Xenon Hood Scoop and was planing on spray painting "aerosol can" it myself. I went to the door tag to get the paint code and it said "D3" which I thought it was Torch Red. After looking at a few website they are listing D3 as Colorado Red. Is this right? I thought D3 for a 2008 Mustang was Torch Red. Can any car painters help me out and tell me which color its is before I order spray paint?

in u have to spray paint it go to a napa like one on 51 and have them mix u up a spray can

Don't half-ass it! Let a real painter do the job for you, especially since it is a very noticable part on the outside of the car.

x3.. i tried paintin my side scoops with a can of single stage n it wouldnt dry for sh*t, unless u got access to a paint booth, i would have a pro do it

I have a friend that owns a body shop and will do it right for a real good price. Do it right the first time!

Thanks everyone. I haven't ruled out taking it to a paint shop and having it done. But I still have the same question I stated before. What color is D3 for a 2008 Mustang? Is it Colorado Red or Torch Red?

Well let you know. Have to figure out what I need. Like I said above, i need to find out paint color plus as you can see I have white strips on the hood of my car and wondering if I should paint the strips on it or go with vinyl like the hood is.

Id put vinyl back on it, at least then if you ever change your mind about the stripes they arent so permanent..... especially if the rest of the car isnt painted on

Alot of times scoops on striped cars arent striped they are just put on top. It looks decent most of the time

Yes..not sure which way to go. Paint it the same color of the car, or paint it white. Just not sure. Saw this picture and thought it looks good.

Ok..this is crazy!! Called C.Harper Ford about Paint Code D3. Talk to the parts department asked him what color D3 is. This what he said. D3 in one book says Torch Red and in another book it says Colorado Red. He believes that its is the same color.

And the bad thing about this is that I think he is right. If you go to any car paint website paint code D3 is Colorado Red. If you go to a site like American Muscle they say paint code D3 is Torch Red. No wonder i don't have much hair.
