Guys with Vortech Blow thru Setup.

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what I need to do to convert my 96 GT to Blow thru. I have a stock mass air right now and I need to get a bigger one for my injectors and what not. I have been reading that blow thru is the way to go so I figured if I am going to buy one it might as well be a blow thru. However I don't know what it all entails to convert it. I know I would either need a housing or weld a flange on ( was going to go with something from VMP tuning) but not sure what else. Can I use the bypass valve still If I went to the blow thru ? I want to get A BOV but was just wondering if I could use the Stock Bypass for the time. I was also reading about plumbing and how you have to have a straight shot before and after the MAF. Also that some have moved the IAC is this needed? Also I know I will need to get it tuned after that but would it be drive able after the switch or not? Sorry for so many questions I am new to all this. Any help on what I need to do would be awesome

    Thanks guys

All you have to do is get an sct Ba2400 maf. I never heard of moving the iac..mabey you mean the IAT sensor. I relocated mine to the throttle body boot. You have a choice of either going with an fmu (not the best) and getting the vortech tune. Or getting bigger injectors and a custom tune through the tuner you like. I would get a custom tune, but either way your car should be drivable.

you will definitaly need a tune if you move the maf.. this swap is usually only done if you have a car that makes tons of power and the driveability is not good..

Well I was told that if you have a blower this setup is the way to go and it gives better driveability, better fuel economy and consisent WOT air to fuel ratios . Now I don't have a lot of power all i have right now is a vortech supercharger, headers, gears, 75mm throttle body and aftermarket intake plenum and spacer,42# injectors. I plan on getting more stuff down the road so would it be ideal to do the swap now since I already need to get another mass air ?

    Thanks guys

We have tuned a good many blown cars with the maf before the blower with no driveability problems at all, i recommend getting an sct ba2600 maf, a set of 42lb injectors, and have it tuned by us or a rebutable shop that knows what they are doing.. I have customer cars that make 500hp+ @the wheels that drive like a stock mustang..

I really like the PMAS Slot Sensor in blow through on my car (from VMP tuning). You will need someone to do a complete tune as it's a raw transfer based on pipe size. The good news with the slot sensor is if you get close to pegging, just up the pipe size, The Slot sensor also has a IAT built in. The slot sensor seems to be more tolerant of linear runs as well.

You can use either a bypass valve or bov and the IAT is in the slot sensor style. Like the one I'm selling.

I have heard nothing but praise about the Slot style sensors. What are you asking for it again?

There is a thread on Corral about moving the IAC before the throttle body. It works with these cars.
You guys do realize he is in the U.K., right?

Any bypass can be used as a blowoff just vent it to the atmosphere. I went from push to blow through and I used at least 10" of staight pipe before and after the maf that was the same size. Even before the tune it started driving better. But I didn't beat on it untill I new the tune was good.

We've done a ton of blow-thru cars with no issues that drove nice as stock. You have to be very careful of the meter placement!
