what size tip covers for a 3.5 " exhaust?

I'm a bit confused.I am running slp loudmouths right now with a 3.5" tip and would like to get tip covers on top of them.do i purchase 3.5" or do i need to go bigger like 4" since it's going over top?

do you want to put tips on your tips? or do you want larger tips than you already have?

I assume you would want to go 4 inch, but SLP tips are purdy. Why cover them up?

well these are the axleback loudmouths so they really don't come with tips and my ends are pretty worn from wear and tear so i'd like to get some chrome tips and since the pipes are 3.5",i would think i'd need a 4" to fit over top....or am i wrong? like i said,im not an expert at that.im surprised i was able to install the things!!! hahaha
