Which image size do you prefer being posted?

As one of our resident photo guys, I was hoping I could get some feedback from you in regards to what image size you like to see (or hate to see) posted. The reason I ask is because not everybody is running the same desktop resolution, so I'd hate to post an image size that a large number of people can't fit entirely on their computer screen.

I made two quick examples of the easiest sizes for me to reduce to, but any other suggestions/comments would also be appreciated.

    1200x800

    1024x683

    Thanks guys,
    Bo

that's the kind of information I was looking to get out of this to be honest. I wasn't sure if 1200x800 would be too big for that resolution or not, I'm running 1680 x 1050, and I feel like 1200x800 is the most convenient for a higher resolution, but I wouldn't want to view anything too much larger than 1200x800 in a thread just out of personal preference

the smaller the better in the forum along with a link to the source if you are interested enough to see it in any resolution ;)

I do a lot of traveling and it's amazing what passes for hgh speed out there. We get really spoiled with pretty good connection speeds at coffee shops or whatever. I can only imaging living with dial up these days ;)

I can see what you're sayin, but then again why click the link if no interest? Just trying to play devil's advocate here

Maybe I'll post 2 (in 12x8) and link to a gallery for the rest the next time I make a pic thread. Thank's for the feedback Bob, I wouldn't have thought about it that way. Anybody else feel that way?

160 x 1050 for my computer so size isn't an issue.id suggest the smaller of the 2 you posted though just for everyone in general.

I usually host any image I post on forums at 800x600 so I don't get any complaints. If people are interested enough, they usually pm me and I email them some high res.

Same here. 800x600 is perfectly fine for a forum.
Anything larger you can use an external link to Photobucket etc.
