    make sure and get actual engine paint, for one its resistant to petrolium based pruducts..

    ya, but I didnt know if there were any better brands than others, or if there was any other prep work other than degreasing the block and masking off, or if I should sand it down etc.

    no mike didnt you know there is a new kind of paint on the market you can spray over grease and dirt its like 10 bucks a can ...

    degrease it
    get a cleaner from an auto paint store to remove the contaminates of the degreaser
    then sand if you want a smooth finish or else spray
