Wow am I jealous! I'd love to go there. X2 on vacation idea. How much would a plane ticket be to go to germany?
Plane tickets are the cheap part in the scheme of things (~$700.00 with some notice). It is REALLY expensive over here now. The Euro is over 1.5 x the dollar, and really the base prices are the same here as for things as at home plus conversion then add in taxes and crap (Beer is like 3.5 Euro x 1.5 = $5.25 plus VAT now) Hotel, rental cars and fuel are stupid expensive. Even the trains arent cheap now with the currency conversions. Makes it real tough to enjoy being here.

Early Summer for sure (unless you want to ski in the south). In general it's cool(er) and damp over here. Not a heck of a lot of bright sunny days. The summer does have a period of really hot / humid weather and in general no air conditioning (hotels too) so it could be misrable if you hit the wrong time. The europeans take their "holiday" time in late August so it's busy as all get out then. If you come when the weather is nice, it's even more expensive :(Originally Posted by 97LaserRed
