    Need a Good Collision Center

I got in a "little" fender bender recently. Insurance company said the car is salvagable. I am kind of happy about that since I have put a lot of work into the car and hate to see it go. They gave me an estimate, but I would like to know a good shop that can fix the front end of a Mustang.

Here are a couple pics of the "after"

    And one of the before:

Man that sucks!!! Sorry about the accident. Don't know if you are aware or even how close you are to us, but we have a body shop on site here as well. If there is something that we can do, shoot me a pm or give us a call here at the shop. Our number here is 724-964-2814......good luck

Yeah, I just sent him a PM. This car is my weekend car, so I would not mind it being worked on a little farther away, especially if the company is recommended. It sits in the garage all winter anyway, so this is a good time to get work done.

While I love this specific car, I am getting nervous about repairing it. Am I treading on thin ice by doing that? The insurance estimate said about 4 hours of frame/unibody work.

False Alarm. I got hold of the insurance guy. The car is totaled. He said the estimate was a cursory review and went to high.

He did mention that the right front rail was not bent, it was actually crushed. He said he was a mustang fan and saddened to see this one go. On a good note, he rated it as Excellent - Dealer Retail"

You can still buy it back and have it fixed with the insurance proceeds. You'll end up with a reconstructed title, but as long as the car is fixed right you'll have nothing to worry about. If you ever sell it the car will be worth less than a clean title, but the longer you keep it the smaller the difference will be. Back in the mid '90s I bought a 1987 GT convertible with a reconstructed title. I drove it for 3 years / 30k miles and sold it for $1000 less than I paid for it. I didn't think that was too bad.

Plus, with the insurance proceeds, you can consider certain upgrades during the repairs...
2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.

1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

I was considering keeping it anyway and seeing what can be done. While I plan on keeping this a long time, I would still like to get around a "R" title, is that possible?

I already thought of adding a few mods with the notion it will be cheaper to do at this point.

By the way, I bought this car 5 years ago today (Nov 18, 2004). Happy freakin birthday to my car.

I won't say much on a public forum as it is still under investigation. But I was turning left at an intersection and someone else was going straight, with red lights involved. Next thing I know, I am spinning 360.

Sorry to hear this. I think I saw your pics on another site somewhere too. You could atleast take off some of the custom parts to resell. That is, if you have your stock stuff to go back on. I may even be interested in one or two.
