ps3 ftw, blu ray is awesome, 360 is already out of date technology using hd dvd instead of blu ray disks

xbox 360 is better hands down.

it has better exclusive games(halo, gears of war, forza motorsport, fable, etc etc) and all the biggest games that are on ps3 are also on 360(modern warfare, GTA, Assassin's creed, etc.) - save for a few good exclusive ps3 games like metal gear solid 4 and killzone 2

xbox live is a million times better than playstations online service.

xbox 360's base console is cheaper than ps3's base console

i think the xbox's control is designed better

only upside i see to the ps3 is you can use it as a blu ray player

    I say buy an xbox

best advice: get whatever your friends have - playing online with them will make that system better than the other. They're both good. If there is a game you really want that is console exclusive, I'd lean towards that system as well.

Beyond that, I have a 360, I like it, I have like 5 games since it came out though hahaha i don't play much.

Modern Warefare 2 is a great game, highly recommended. It got me to turn my xbox on for the first time in 8 months.

360 does not use HD DVD's...it uses dual layer DVDs. they made an HDDVD add on that you could buy back when blu ray and HDDVD both just came out (around 2006)...but after blu ray won the battle they stopped making it.

blu ray has little advantage over dual layer DVDs when it comes to video games. They do have an advantage with video though because they support high definition video. the only great thing about them is you can store a ton of data on them(up to 50GB)

when it comes to video games with the current console generation....there is nothing out-dated about dual layer dvds compared to blu ray discs besides storage capacity

but if you want to talk about movies, then yes, DVDs are outdated compared to blu ray

It depends on what your looking for. The graphics are almost identical so thats not a deciding factor. The blu ray thing is nice if you watch alot of movies, some people do some people dont. The exclusive games are good for both systems and the really good ones are common between the two.

Online service is what it really comes down to. The PS3 has always been more expensive. Because of this, the online community is gernerally older and more mature which in most cases turns into MUCH better gameplay. The 360 has always been cheaper so the audience is generally younger.

I have a 360 and everytime I play COD online I want to kill myself from all the 12 year old f uckers running around and playing the game like complete idiots. I've played my friends PS3 a few times and the people that play it aren't nearly as retarded.

The 360 also has a paid online service where the PS3 is free.

all the xboxs now have redesgined GPU's and CPU's that are much smaller and run much cooler and this eliminates the red ring problem that all the early models had. They used to run 90nm chipsets, now they use 65nm.

the red ring problems are pretty much completely eliminated with all the 360s in stores today

the red ring is easy to fix anyways. I got my 360 for free and it cost me 15 bux to fix it, including the tools, lol. Haven't had a problem since I fixed it. Also, if you have Netflix, you can register your 360 to it and watch movies instantly on your TV, lol.

Thats weak you have to pay for xbox live. I had a buddy who also had the ring of death or whatever it was. I had a PS2 for the longest time, thing was so old, my little cousins have it now, suprisingly it still works!

Shit, I still have a functional origional Atari 2600! Got a functional Pong laying around somewhere too.

I have the PS3 and I really like it. I have never had a problem with ti and the graphics are very good. Only gripe is the $$$ of it. I paid $500 for it a few years ago. Thought about getting a xbox 360, but I have had too many friend have ones that crapped out on them.
