Well it does seem to attract all the teenage car buyers so I would assume so.

The free coffee thing made me laugh a bit, but I guess I do feel a little older now that I don't own the same car the 16 year old kid giving me my coffee at the drive-thru drives to school in.

If your so grown up why didnt you just buy a vette then?
vette > all other gm products

That 'box' by the way, has had more influence on the automotive scene, especially drag racing and aftermarket, than any vehicle GM has made, is making, or ever will make

And I stick by the comment. You gave me a terrible example to work with since I think any kid given the choice it going to want the 3 year old car instead of the 20 year old car. Now GTO vs newer mustang I think they may pick the stang due to notoriety and flash-appeal.

And for the box being an influence on drag racing and aftermarket I won't disagree, I'm just glad drag racing wasn't the only thing influencing my perchase.

C6 was out of my price range and 06 GTO was going for the same price as an 02 Vette and the GTO was just as fast with lower insurance and a better interior.

Notice I didn't get involved until the mature Mustang owners started calling out all GTO's, not just the owners originally involved in this thread? Like I told mr4teth, I am defending my ride same as you guys.

And to answer your ? Scott, the GTO was discontinued because it was introduced at the end of the Holden Monaro's model cycle, and when it came time for a redo gm didn't have the funds to continue.

With only 40k made over 3 years its always going to be a small following that own these cars. They were never intended to be a mainstream sports car like the mustang so I can live with that. I just hope some of the "real" sports cars like Aztec taillights.

sounds like you have an axe to grind? That's unfortunate. You should have just bought an 03/04 cobra - although with only 19,140 made, they were never intended to be a mainstream sports car

Nope no axe to grind Bo, just a little friendly banter. I just add the 19,140 cobras to the mainstream Mustang totals, since thats what they are.
