    Very nice.....

What was the best ET with the old setup, and what is the expected ET with the new?

That is some very impressive power on the old setup.

Edit: Also...what machine shop is doing the work?

Why all the work and money for a relatively "modest" gain in power? I hate to be the guy to ask, but I just can't see the reasoning?

Your car is the nicest goat I've ever seen on the net (I'd love to see it in person), this definitely adds to how unique and well done it is.

What would u like me to do then ?

I could have tossed a TVS 2300 on it for $6500. Tack on another $1500 to change over to a twin pump return style fuel system. Add another $1000 for misc crap. That is around $11,000 and I am still stuck with a OEM LS2 shortblock in there. That is dumb...

I sold my old longblock, recouped a good bit of cash and now I have something that will not break no matter what I plan on doing to it.

So next year if I want to toss on a F1 Procharger I can make an easy 850-900 rwhp and not worry about a thing...

Is that a good enough reason ?

I dropped all engine parts of at the machine shop.

Also dropped of the pressure plate, clutch and flywheel.

The entire rotating assembly will be machined and balanced.

My Diamond Pistons are getting sent out to Calico Coatings.

CT-3 Dry Film Lubricating Coating will be going on the skirts.

CT-2 Thermal Barrier Coating will be going on the tops.

Calico coated main and rods bearing will be ordered as well

    Yep

All in all it it will do 60 rwhp more peak and around 90 rwtq more peak.

At 2500-3500 RPMs it will make 150 rwtq more than my LS2.

Good lord, I can't wait to see this complete, I have always loved this car!!!

My good buddy used to have an 01 or 02 trans am with a MTI 427, think around 550ish rwhp, god that thing was a monster. Good luck with the build and maybe I'll see the car around, do you live in wexford also? my old man lives right past the stone mansion restaurant off 910 so I'm out that way quite often.

I don't know, it's your car and your money - I was just curious. I don't know enough about the LSx motors' limits in stock form to make an educated decision on the spot, but I'd probably have sprayed it if it was still considered to be within the 'norm' for the LS2.

I always hear "throw a supercharger on the LSx and it will kill any Ford" - so I didn't think they would cost $6500. or require another 4500 for fuel and misc crap. I guess I'm just too used to seeing a $3500 whipple on an 03/04 cobra put down around 600 rwhp with just an upgraded fuel system to support it? That would be dumb to spend 11 grand for a TVS. Really dumb. Your plan sounds much smarter now - edit: especially since it'll be bullet proof :)

Next year, you're planning on running an F1 on an 11.7 CR motor...??

Base blower kits for a LSx motor can be had around 5,500 and go up from there....
Fuel can be done cheap with a boost a pump or drop in fuel pump for power levels not exceeding 650ish rwhp, most blower kits will come with a fuel upgrade

Dak needed the badass $1500 system because he was looking for ~900rwhp.

Things are a lot different when your car does not come setup for FI... lol

I like the spray idea but not for daks showbitch.... He will find out how well spray works next time on the highway tho....

Pistons and Rings cost $700 and Head Gaskets cost $100.

    Now I'm back to 10:1

    That wasnt to difficult.

Crack that lil 4.6 open and see whats inside it. ;)

I just sold a Procharger F1C Kit. If I wanted to go FI I would have.
