If I was that close, I would be using Fred as an engine builder :D I'm a good distance from him and he will probably do my next shortblock :D
BTW - I have not heard of him doing much with the Pinto lately. They are running those pro-stick races pretty serious with the Probe.
yes he does do good machine work , he is not far from me either

BTW, how many inches do you get with a tall deck SVO block like that?

Most guys don't tell ;)
A lot of them are in the 2.85 range and grow over time. Most guys leave room to fix them if they dink a hole so they usually start out smaller and grow them :D There where only ~100 of those blocks made so they command a huge premium when they go on the market.
This engine in Joe's car, House, Nase, and Hubers all run the tall deck stuff. Joe does have other "small" engines and Nace has moved on to the 2.0 ecotec program in a dragster last I knew.
Fast Dave Flanders is the guy doing amazing things with a production 2.5 block :D
Joe had the new Pinto out for a few shake down passes 156ci.
"It was the 8th full pass so i was pleased with that... Rick Bommarito drove the car. He had been driving it geetting the chassis sorted out. Dave will test the car in the next week or so and the drive the car at Colubus.
