yea paxtons are nuts but can be expensive. KB's look absolutely horrible on 5.0s. I have an s trim and like it alot. Its perfect for my goals

I have an s-trim, I dig it pretty good, but my bottom end is shot so I'm not experiencing the full potential/fun aspect.

I ordered mine special from vortech as they quit selling the standard V1, but I wanted it loud. That alone makes me like it. I do wish I wouldve ponied up the other 1k in the long run and bought the novi 2000 though. I like the better brackets, the ability to grow (the novi2000 is 2x the size an s-trim. Its like a YSi) along with the idea I can intercool the car.

The reality of it all is that our blocks are worth dick, and you can just as easily max everything out without an intercooler with the cheaper, easier to install and effective vortech strim. With the novi, I could support more, but I'd end up having to redo the ENTIRE car to be able to support it. However, that growth is still there if you do choose to go crazy. 5yrs from now I can see myself in that spot if I keep the car that long. Just something to ponder.

You should be able to s-trim any stroker however and realistically make in the 500-the 600rwhp envelope on meth/other. A supported 302 should do the 450rwhp range all day which is my goal. Low 11s @ 120+ in a full weight sn95. 10s at mid 120s in a fox.

To me it depends if you ever want to or plan on upgrading the stock shortblock for over 500rwhp.
If you do plan on upgrading down the road, Novi 2000 or an S-trim in the bigger brackets that will support the YSi or larger.
If you plan on keeping stock shortblock for a long while, S-trim is great bang-for-buck.

haha, yeah, but then he better start saving for a Dart block ;) .
I like the Procharger R series blowers, but they're definitely more race.
    BTW, my buddy's '93 Cobra with a stock block h/c/i makes 475rwhp with a Novi 2000 almost 10psi.

Scott you got issues. Doesn't the f1r come standard with a cog setup? Lol.

I see people ask this question and it really doesn't matter. All company's out there are good. Paxton is vortech and ATI makes a great blower. Call each company and tell them to send you all the info on their s/c's.

My vortech is a great blower, trouble free. There are many things you should consider though. Do you want an air to air cooler, or an air to water? Paxton and ati have air to air intercoolers, where vortech has the air to water aftercoolers. Also, if you are going to put it on do you feel inclined enough to tap a hole into your oil pan? If not you can go with the self contained ati or vortech head units.

    x3! :)

if you decide not to go with gmslayer's setup, any twin kit that has T3 hotside flanges would be great for what you want. You could start off with a pair of plain-jane T3 60-trims in a .63AR exhaust housing (they're on the net for less than $650 each). They will give you the flow you want to meet your horsepower goals. Later on you can go with something as big as the Garrett dual ball bearing GT3582Rs and I assure you that turbo flow will not be the weak link in your setup for a long time.

If you want to consider turbocharging feel free to PM me I'll be glad to give you some more details and advice.

If you have not yet, go on vortech's site and download the manual. Read it.
