C-Clip eliminators are a form of axle retention just like the 9" ends, you don't need both, just one or the other. If you build an 8.8 with standard c-clip axles, you can add the c-clip eliminators later. Strange makes eliminator kits for stock and stock replacement type axles as well as specific kits for just their axles. Cost for the 9" ends and labor will vary, just depends how you go about it like with anything else. You will have at least 2X$ in the 9" versus the c-clip eliminators.

You can install c clip eliminators on c clip axles. All you have to do is cut the end of the axle off that the c clip slides on and install the eliminator. However the axles without c clips look like a much beefier axle than one with c clips.I however wouldn't do this myself but have seen it done and works just fine
88 GT...and some boost
It looks like those Eaton's left plenty of marks ...
That was the disapointing part of my rear end carnage this year, never even put a drop of oil on the track for any of them
Maybe have a better shot at making an oil down with the Detroit locker this season ... seems liek the "better" rears blow up when they go![]()
