but it "needs" an R title? Its a ranger, with a 2.9 5spd..any problems with these motors?

the guy said it had been hit in the back, but he said its fine and will pass for an R title..

    any advice anyone??

They tend to get crack the heads, it's a pretty common problem with those motors.

The 2.9's like to crack heads. So much so that World products made an aftermarket casting for them the demand was so high.

They were notorius just as much as the 4.0 like Bob said. I had a couple different ones and cracked the heads on both. I believe it was like hit or miss. Also, probably depends on the driver with some of it. I was pretty hard on both of them. Just keep it in mind though.
