    Ferrets?..Venting.

Well, my girlfriend somehow brought home three ferrets today, aged from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years old..two huge cages, and a shit ton of other stuff for like 85 bucks..

we were talking about getting one, maybe two..well i come home from work and i got three ferrets running around my bedroom I've had guinea pigs but never ferrets..They are kinda wild little animals..I dont know if these ferrets were raised together or what, but i dunno about spliting them all up..but i damn sure dont want three here. I guess I'll give it some time see how they work out..shes got two for the night so we'll see how this one does by itself. Who knows, maybe it won't turn out so bad, right?

anyone else on the board have any ferrets?

I raised them back in the day. They multiply like rabbits and bite like little furry buzz saws. I don't miss them. They are nice as long as they are someone elses.

I had a couple when I was in high school. They are loads of fun and very entertaining but they STINK and shit everywhere! Plus the little bastards would steal stuff and hide it in the corners of the house!

i have 2 females, they are alot of fun and get along well. mine will nip at you until it realizes it's human skin then they lightin up on the bite(dont hurt at all). you have to keep up with cleaning there cage and all or yes they will stink. it's best if you atleast have two cause they like companionship. they are pack animals, best in pairs or more.

we use target brand cat litter, keeps down on dust & absorbs the odor. dont feed them anything that has fish (that will make them smell) my wife takes care of them and there is no issues,no smells. if you have any questions lmk cause she has done alot of research b4 we got them. we've had them 3yrs now and i like them. she got a deal at $85 for all that. i spent $175 for 2 ferrets,1 cage, few toys,bowls,beds....

We had one when I was in high school. She was fun but they do require upkeep for sure. Mine used to take a run at me and climb right up onto my shoulder. lol

well originally she bought three of them..she has two of them and I have one..ones staying here and the others are gonna stay over there with her..shes going to bring them over so they all can play pretty much on a regular basis, but theres no way in hell im gonna keep three of those things in my house..

as of now, shes just running around, im guessing looking for the other ones? I'm not sure, kind of worrying me a bit but we'll give it a little while see how it works out.

I had two of them for years. Very fun little weasels. I still remember one of them trying like hell to steal my work boot and drag it to his hiding place under the couch.

i havent had a problem yet, although one latched onto my toe today, lifted my leg and the thing still didnt let go until my sock slid off my foot. funny enough, he then took the sock behind the tv and hid it.

Kid I use to teach Hapkido to had one. He couldn't figure out how it kept ending up on his ceiling fan until one day he watched his parrot pick the thing up and put it on top of the fan. Interesting little things but too much upkeep. good luck!
