Using different size tires front versus rear

For my 94 Cobra, I'd like to go with stock size of 255/45/17 up front, but would like to go with 275/40/17 in back. Both sizes are the exact same diameter. Does anyone know what problems, if any, this can cause? Will this cause an increase in tramlining or other driveability problems?

I'm thinking about going with the Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals due to the great reviews they have received from many Z06 owners. Also, they seem to have great treadwear life and are good in the rain.

    Thanks.

I'm running those sizes on my fox without any issues. Still have great handling.

Good idea with the tire and size choice. But the wideovals SUCK in the rain! I've had them on my 222hp 300zx and that car got sideways everytime I hit the gas. In the summer those tires handle great and they are awesome on dry roads. BUT! Don't even think about using those tires in cold weather. Anything below 45* you'll slide everywhere. I've ran them for 2 years then I sold my Z and I loved those tires! And I got them half off too!! (Since I work at firestone, I got awesome discounts on those)

I'm running 265/35/18 up front and 285/35/18 (soon to be 305/35/18 in the spring). The front tires even have a smaller overall diameter and I haven't had any driveability issues. My ABS light has been on for a very long time (before this wheel/tire setup) so I cannot speak for any issues it might bring up with the ABS light.
