    Thumbs up Boxtop resto project

I finally got some extra time and tore into the mont today. The hood, fenders and radiator support are bent up pretty good due to the previous owners buddies truck rolling back into it. Its a shame because all the stuff is rust free. Ive always complained about undercoating but it seems to have preserved this car pretty well. Today I pulled the hood and passenger fender and started removing the undercoating and sanding for some fresh paint. Im going to patch the battery apron, there is a small area that has some rust due to acid leakage. Not sure if im going to replace the whole rad support or just put a new cut on above the frame rail, it is rust free on the bottom and the top is just mangled.

Nice. Looks like there is a lot less holes than my fox has in the engine bay. You going to smooth it out?

Yes, nearly no holes in the early fox cars. Ford just added as they went and never deleted any. Im not going show on this one so im leaving them there.

That is clean and sleeper. It would be worth the tow if it's really as solid as it looks. If I wasnt into this Pinto wagon now ....

Nice dude, I'm guessing a mild 418 would do the trick nicely.
Still, looking at that 6th pic of the bumper screams for an intercooler between those brackets ;)
Those wheels look good on there too.

Cool project Lou. There was a guy that graduated a year behind me in school that had a blacked out Fairmont Futura, that runs in the low 10's. I think it had a built 351 Windsor. That car was cool as hell.

Got some more done, haven't updated in a while.I have removed the rad support, cut out the bad area in the battery apron and cut out a small bit of rust in the bottom of the driverside cowl. Just picked up a 220 mac tools welder and a 110 plasma cutter, just have to get them hooked up and start assembly. Also picked up another for parts.

Did someone steal the rear coils out of the parts car? (or did you check it for dead hookers?) You need to find a Zephyr for the grill for this project ;)
