A little more progress today, im using the 03 pedal assembly and hydroboost setup instead of going manual brakes and steering like I usually do on all my cars. Trying to make this an honest to goodness street car. After setting the new pedals in the car and opening the holes in the firewall up to accept the hydroboost setup I had to graft the rear section of the original pedal assembly on the new one, the original steering column mounts to it. Im happy with how it turned out but now I need to figure out how im going to move the pedals back, they are too far from the firewall for my liking. Don't mind the welds, im still in the learning curve.

Heat the pedal arms red hot and bend them down if you want it lower.Do it over about 3 or 4 inches so that way you wont notice it.

Kinda what I was thinking but im guessing ill have to do it in 2 places to make the foot pads look right and not point towards the floor.

How are your pedals? They seem too far off the floor to me. Way further than stock.

Leg room is not bad, the height between the gas and brake is too far. I find myself hitting the side of the pedal switching back and fourth.

oh got ya, yeah I guess i do notice that.........my throttle cable was way too long too, it had alot of slack in it

I had to pull all the extra inside the car and shorten it so my pedal could pull it.

I met that guy and his son at Norwalk, his son is very rarely on here but has a TT 331 LX that they built themselves and runs hard. That Fairmont won at Norwalk last year, it is a nice set-up. They seem like good people, I'm going to start using his shop for my local repairs/inspections since they are close.

Those are some nice color choices. I've seen a few of them in black - and they look great, but there are a few out there. It is hard to go wrong with DSG, but it doesn't work with a lot of the stock interior colors. My Dad's '63 R2 Avanti is Sunburst Gold - and it is really an awesome color. The metallic is so fine and just jumps off the car in the sunlight. Photos don't do it justice - you have to see it in person. If your interior is brown or tan it would be a great combo. Burnt orange is nice too - I've always liked the color from Project Copperhead on the Trucks show with Stacey David. That would also look nice with a tan or brown interior. Their website used to list the paint code for that color.

Can't wait to see which way you go - now get back to work!!
