sorry guys, but i have to totally disagree about your dissatisfaction with my sportsman block... I think you'll find way more people very happy with their numbers and power rather than complaining about a busted block. I would love to read some threads that include people dissatisfied with their sportsman block though... can you link me? not people who never even owned a block either just ranting... Anyhow, lets just hope for my sake the motor lives a long long life :) Thanks again guys for the nice comments and whatnot...

GMKILR - no the tune isn't hardly even started. i got hot idle set, did some data logging for cold idle, I need some nice weather to be able to go out driving around.. as far as WOT passes, i'm probably not going to be able to tune them until spring gets here because i don't get traction in 3rd gear on DR's when the roads are cold

Still sounds mean Billy. I like the AEM set up. I almost went with one. Going to have to wait till next year though. Did too much this year and went over board. I am also flirting with a block destined for destruction. HAHA It happens. That will be before the AEM though. Now, paint that hood.

Dude I have wanted this car painted for so long like i'm almost ready to just give up on it and learn how to paint myself... I want the car perfect when it's done, moldings all like new, paint, body panels all perfectly aligned etc.... If i could find a shop who i had faith in and that i knew they could give me breath taking results i'd do it tomorrow.

did this for 3 years, with 3 years of serious street abuse before i broke a ring, bored 30 and new sluggs and going back together now for another round with more boost and more power, buy the way the car had trapped in the mid 130s most of the time,

what kind of boost was it making? what internals?

his car had a probe rotating assembly, h beams, canton girdle, and that video was on an s-trim on i want to say 14psi... factory v1s with 8" crank pulley.

Hey Chris, I didnt say it wasnt going to run. It may last. There are stock blocks out there pushing 600 and I saw one pushing 800. Its in the machine work and assembly. Billy could have a motor there that colud last for ever. It could huff first pass. Same as me pal, mine could last forever or huff it first time down the track. I am going for upper 500's perhaps 600 on the rollers with mine.

AS for the block, dont push the tune and it shoud be fine for mid 10's. Detonation is what will spit those blocks and stock blocks in half, tune safe and you should be fine. Also what balancer are you running?

That's what the knock sensors are for ;) i'm installing them soon, I'm starting to get this AEM EMS shit figured out so by the end of this season i should be pretty fluent. I'm running and ATI balancer.
