2011 Focus unveiled... anyone else excited???

Most people probably won't get excited when talking about the ford focus but I must say that I'm partial to them. My current SVT is the second one I've had and I love it. Both of mine have been the hatchback model and I was very disappointed that they dropped this from their lineup a few years back. These hatchback's offer so much... great MPG (I've seen 35 in my SVT), tons of storage with the seats folded down, great handling, and a non-econo car feel. I was just sent this link and all I can say is I now know what my next car will be. I was set on not getting another focus as I wanted something different and I didn't care for the latest versions as they needed a serious updating. Now I'll be waiting for either the ecoboost or diesel version, but I'm stoked about the new car and what it will offer. I think ford got this one right. I'm not thrilled about the front but I think it may grow on me.

It also looks like it will be available with Ford's new Myford touch application for SYNC. Being a big fan of pandora myself, I can't wait for this!

i think this is a great re-design.

Ford has been doing absolutely amazing the last few years redesigning all of their cars. look at a 2003 taurus and look at a brand new one. HUGE difference in quality, looks, and technology. all of their new cars also have amazing interiors.

They went from being close to needing government help to being one of the best auto manufacturers in the world. They just were awarded 2010 car AND truck of the year.

I love my wife's '08 Focus. Does better than 30 mpg driving around, is actually comfortable, and has a lot of little things (sync, etc) that make it a pretty darned nice driver. I would love it even more if it had another ~15hp but that would likely hit the mileage. Happy we bought that one, and will likely have another when it's time.

I'm sure I'll be looking into one in a couple years if it ends up looking like that when it's into production here

Also reaaaaaaally liking the Buick Regal GS concept, although I am fully aware it's in a totally different price range.

Mixed feelings here.
It looks good inside and out, but I picked the Focus for the price range personally.
If the price tag goes from $15K to $20K I won't even consider it again.
Ford has other brands like Mercury and Lincoln to make higher-end cars.
Don't kill the eco cars Ford!!

looks good but i think it needs more power.. i mean lets be honest they pretty much say the RS isn't coming to the states. i dont understand this... every wal-mart sittin, mall hoppin', rice eatin kid would piss themselves to see one of these things blow their STi off from a roll. i know the mustangs are fast as hell and i am not saying ford needs to abandon the muscle car but i just think their is a large group of young buyers that would be interested in getting the car if it was at 300 hp... just saying. other than that the car looks beautiful.

The RS is extremely expensive and now only 2wd in europe, I don't see a market here for it. However, once production ramps up on the ecoboost 4cyl and it makes it way into a number of other ford vehicles, one could assume a new SVT version would make financial sense to the bean counters at ford.

yeah i kinda take back what i said. later on in the article they talk about a sporty engine being unveiled. but i mean look at the kinda money people do dump into STi's Evo's and SRT-4's. you dont think that some people would the see the RS? and think they would want it? and there is no sarcasm in that i actually would like your honest opinion.

Definitely agree, sweet looking Focus---like the wheels and interior too.
That 5-door hatch with an Ecoboost-4 and a 6-sp would be nice

I want a Focus RS myself. Unfortunately, only one manufacturer offers a fwd car with an lsd, 18's, big brembos, and 260 horsepower. Chevrolet. There is one sitting in my driveway. I owned a 2003 SVT focus, great car handling wise, but I had to get out and push the thing it was so slow. Ford needs to get off their ass and give us a real compact performance car, for those of us who like unassuming performance cars to drive every day.
