I think people would want the RS (which is the front wheel drive turbo 4 right?) but I think it won't get much more market share than the first time buyer of something that can do more than barely get out of its own way. The reason why is the FWD drivetrain. On the SRT4 once you hit a power level where you have a shot at hitting the high 11's doing any kind of drag racing sucks without spending a grand on suspension and the stickiest street legal tires you can afford. Wheel hop gets old, and I think anyone who ever owned a turbocharged FWD car would take a pass on the RS.
That being said, I think it would be a good move for Ford to offer it. Why not dominate yet another segment with a new model?

i get what you are saying completely i drove my buddies SRT-4 and even roling 20 mph in first gear you give it anything more than half throttle the tires will just spin. but i dont think it would be that hard for them to design an AWD version.. thats all i am saying
Not all of us drag race. I have had my Cobalt to the strip once to see what I could get out of it, but it has spent the rest of it's life at the road course. The ONLY reason I bought the car over a WRX or any of the other 20-25,000 performance cars was because the car comes ready for the track, brakes, tire, and suspension wise. Faster at VIR than either the evolution or STi stock according to car and driver. The point I'm trying to make is that I think most buyers willing to spend 25K+ on a FWD shitbox are probably buying it more as a track car than a car to take to the strip.

I think the new Focus looks great! I also like the new Fiesta. I think they have a simular look to them.
mark aubele are you outta trafford??? my father works at the post office down there.
Euro Focus RS is FWD and uses a unique front suspension that supposedly works real well and prevents wheel-hop, forget what it's called.
