my tranny went quickly after i got hooser qts
I've used the MT ET Street radials on both the Mustang and the GTO. They hook very well at the track and pretty well on the street. Street manners are good as well and I never noticed any issue with wandering on the road. They have lasted a lot longer than I expected as well.

yep, i got 1.6s with his MT ET Street radials when i was just learning to drive my car
I liked the MT Drag radials alot better than the BFG's. They hooked up good and lasted a whole lot longer too. Street manners were excellent. Just don't get caught in the rain on the highway.
I voted MT, but what is your power level? IRS? much street use?

I'm running 520rwhp/500rwtq with an IRS. I only take it out here and there to go to shows, cruises, or just enjoy it. I'm not worried at all about the rain as it never has seen any but want a something to hook on a dry summer day/night.
I think I've eliminated the hoosiers as I heard they're a really soft compound and put you all over the road. I'm between the MT and BFG but could easily be persuaded at this point. I'm not sure what RUTHLESS ended up going with....hopefully he'll chime in and give a review.

Sounds good, what size?
If its just traction in a straight line, the MTs. They also kick up alot of road stones, just FYI.
I would also consider the new Toyo TQ, its built for IRS cars but I'm guessing it will give up some to the MTs at the track. Toyo is parent to Nitto, so it should be on par there.

Nittos if it doesnt see track time and if it does.. Et street radials hands down.. And on the BFGs, the new style have been PROVEN that they can hook and go 9s and 8s
I was gonna run 335s but rolling the fenders, or as alot of people do..."trim" the wheel wells, is just not up my alley. Therefore I will be running 315/30R18 on the back for the lower sidewall to help with the infamous wheel hop.
As for the stones... I hate them, everytime I drive through the smallest bit I can hear them as I cringe cause theyre impossible to see on the road. I also heard as far as aesthetics the BFGs look bigger than some 335s when mounted along with an aggressive looking tread pattern.
I also like the fact that BFG has the kdw to somewhat "match" the rears. (as anal as that may be)

i was going to post up a pic of how awesome they look, but i seen you already made a thread on svtp
I'd do the 315/35/18 Toyo personally. Look at SVTP for some good pics.
Also, a shorter sidewall would be worse for wheelhop. I presonally think the 30 series are too short.
Also, my brother has been 1.39 60' on the 305/35/18 MT DR.

what about the goodyear eagle ss i have read good things about these
Better late than never!!
Sorry guys I have been away from the boards for a while. I ended up changing my plans a few months back. HEHE So I am also changing my tire plans. Take a look at the Toyo R888 road racing tires. They use a R rubber compound but have side walls so the car can take the turns. I think I am going to run them on the street and use my MT ET streets at the track to save the IRS.
I was going to go with the MTs but I like to run my car on the back roads around here and dont want the side wall flex to cause the rear end to dance all over the road.
BTW My 315 BFGs are 12.7 inches wide.

i can tell you ruthless that those mt et streets are not going to be save your IRS what so ever. lol if you want to save your irs at the track def go with the nittos you will have less chance breaking the irs with those.. Those MT et street radials hook better than all that are listed.. That is why they arent allowed to be used in the drag radial class
Sorry I was talking about the ET streets with the small slits not the radials with the treads. I was told the reason the IRS has issues is because of the shock when leaving the line with tires that dont wrinkle.
