BFG T/A Drag Radials
MT ET Street Radials
Thanks ruthless!
I'm still up in the air about what to get. I don't think I like the mt et street radials just from what I've read but I have nittos now and they don't hook (at least when they're cold). I think the BFG G-Force drag radial will be a happy in between for me. They will have a awesome tread design and hook well but not a dead hook to put the irs in jeopardy. Are these the same BFGs you run now? How do you like them? Keep in mind I'm not twin screwed....yet.
P.S. Pics of the 12.7s would be awesome![]()

Speaking of better late than never lol... what's up Cody? :)
I'm not wild about my street radials to be frank with ya, but then again they're only 275s. I used to be able to spin them in 2nd gear (Jasper, while not chiming in here any time soon we can all imagine, has been the only guy on this board in the car with me when I've had those wheels/tires on) I don't really launch my car or even get on it in 1st much for that matter, usually just 2nd from a roll. so for that reason I really like my RII's (which you don't have listed). Reasonable wear, look good, decent traction, not a drag radial - that's why I went for those. I figure I'll get another 2 years out of them and see what's on the tire market at that point.
Sounds like you ought to go with the BFG's. if you don't care about wear, that's what I'd recommend.

unless you have a BAD ASS SUSPENSION, it's hard to hook with drag radials. And by hook, I mean dump the clutch on the spray and HOOK!!! Like you can with drag slicks
I'm not sure what to get just yet so I'm open to all ideas! I wasn't really leaning towards the MT because I don't drag race the car or anything like that. I have heard the wear on the BFGs aren't the best but I have also heard that as long as you're not roasting them they'll do okay. I don't plan on dumping the clutch anytime soon either! Haha
I'll have to check out those RIIs sometime to see what they're like. I have until summer before I want them so I've got awhile still. I looked at the KDW2 but heard they would spin tooo much. Let me know![]()

If thats the case I'd only look at the 315/35/18 Toyo TQ or 305/35/18 Nitto 555R or RII.
All the others would wear way too quickly, throw stones, suck in the rain and be more for drag racing.
I ran the 305/35 555R at 456/465 to the tires everyday except winter and loved them, getting over 12k miles.

Then you're stuck then, anything stickier will jeopardize the IRS.
In the summer my 555R really stuck on the street, only spun much when cold.

What tire pressure do you run? What size Nittos do you have now?
Didn't you get the car in the fall? Nothing will hook on the street with cooler weather.
My 305/35/18s with 25-26psi would always hook from 2nd gear in warm weather.
Also, in my experience, the BFGs wear as quick or quicker than the MTs, and at that rate you will replace a rear set every season.
If I were you, I'd do the 315/35/18 Toyo TQ DRs if you have a 10-11" rim.

I just looked at the pics too, makes me miss my black '04 :(
Anyway, the Nittos look really bald. My traction with them went down big time the last few thousand miles.

To be honest I didn't really want another set of nittos. It may be just because of my first impression with them or just because I want something different.
I run 305/35/18 Nitto 555r now.
BFG: a little better traction, good looks, decent wear
MT ET: dead hook, irs strain, decent wear
TOYO TQ: a little better traction, good wear
TOYOR888: ??????????
HOOSIER: good traction, super soft, bad wear
^^My standing/thoughts so far
