    New 363/369 N/A Combo

In the works to do a Dart 363/369 (still unsure on exact size) that will be "zero" balanced.
I want to spin this thing up to 7500 rpm or so and still have the valvesprings live for a few seasons with a Custom TLSR Billet Cam and all matching hardware.

Heads will be my TFS TW TEA CNC 205 heads that will be springed for the TLSR Cam and use Titanium Retainers and a set of Probe Shaft Mount Rockers.

Looking to be in the 11.0 compression range to live with pump gas 93 octane. Im going to need some pistons that will get me in this ballpark that will also be power adder friendly as I will be using some nitrous down the road.

I will use the TFS Box Intake along with my Accufab 90mm t.b.
All 3.5" intake tubing, SCT 2800 - 90mm MAF with huge 12"powerfilter from Anderson FMS.

This combo should go low, low 10's in my 3200lb. raceweight car. Throw a shot of nitrous on it and ......mid 9's!

Hope to have this whole combo together and ready to go by late Febuary or early march at the latest.

Im very excited to do a nice high winding N/A combo and push it to some super quick times!

I'd like to stick to a shelf piston that is power adder friendly and can keep me in the 11.0 compression range.

3.600 stroke crank? Damn, maybe i'll ring Woody to get his insight on this.
Any thread links or other info on this?

Grab one of the Eagle 3.47" stroke cranks and offset grind it down to a 2.0 Chebby rod journal, use a 2.0x5.4 scat shelf rod, and voila, you're up close to 3.6" crank, depending on how close it originally was to TIR, phase with crank key, etc. Mine wound up at 3.550" when it was all said & done.

Woody can definitely make it happen, ask him.

Mike, Thanks for sharing that info. Im going to call Woody tommorow and see what we can do with this option.

I'd love to get as many cubes as I can out of this little 8.2 Dart block.
Does the crank usually need a few slugs to balance when doing this?
Isnt 4.155 the last shelf piston?

I don't know about the pistons. I had a custom set, and with the Scat rods, I went internal with 2 slugs.

    Update:

Im teaming up with www.FordStrokers.com to build an 8.2 deck 385 cubic inch shortblock for my 94 Cobra. Ive trusted Jim (Woody) in the past with another engine build and he delivered beyond expectations! With Woodys track record for building reliable horsepower I knew I couldnt go wrong teaming up with FordStrokers.....:king:

Im a participant in the Pinks All Out event held in Norwalk OH this year on August 28-28. Our goal is to have the engine done, tuned, and have the whole car sorted out for this event so I can hopefully go some rounds at this event and show everybody what a little small block 8.2 block N/A engine can do!:D

The combo will be as follows:

Dart SHP 8.2 short block via FordStrokers
Displacement isnt final yet but should be in the 385 cube range.
    4.155 x 3.550 - 385

Trick Flow Twisted Wedge CNC 205 heads via TEA

C.I. Custom TLSR (Tight Lash Solid Roller) Billet Cam

    Probe Shaft Mount Rockers

    Trick Flow "R" Box intake

    Accufab 90mm Throttle Body

    SCT 2800 - 90mm MAF

Mac 1 3/4" Longtube Headers with 3" Collectors

    Dr. Gas 3" Off-Road X-Pipe

Dynomax 3" Bullet Mufflers with 3" turndowns

    G-Force T-5 Transmission

    Pro-Motion Custom Clutch

I'll update the thread as more details and pics become available and as progress is made on Project "FordStrokers 385 Pinks All Out" is made. The goals for the engine/car is to run bottom 10's N/A and maybe bust into the 9's here and there. Possibly some Nitrous in the future.:D

Im very happy and thankful to be working with Woody @ FordStrokers on this project as he runs a top notch shop and puts out some big time Horsepower!

    Sounds like a nice build!

Since you were so far along with the other deal (and it was looking to be a strong performer)....why are you jumping ship?

Once your consistently in the 9's then you have to:

    NHRA Competition License
    Full Cage 10pt.
    Windown Net
    Fire Suit
    Etc.....

I like to keep my car streetable and IMO it wouldnt be with all of the above listed. If I can go bottom 10's N/A consistently and maybe bust open the Nitrous bottle when I get a 9 sec. itch here and there then I can avoid the above posted negatives....

Trust me it was a VERY HARD DECISION to stop my old project in its tracks and rip it back apart and start all over again....
Working closely with Jim (Woody) has eased the decision some as he's great to work with. I was close to having the car tuned.... but now im now removing the engine and getting it ready to crate up and ship to the new owner in Colorado!

Sounds like all good reasons to me!!!

While I can appreciate a trailered drag car, I'm much more impressed with a car that drives in, runs, and drives home!

My Scat assembly took two slugs Rob to get it internally balanced.

    Robert,

diamond has a nice t/w specific flat top piston I used made from 2318 aluminum off the shelf in large bore. Mahle has a large bore t/w f/t with the 1.5mm, 1.5mm, 3mm ring pack but, its made from 4032 aluminum. Probe makes one too, lots of options now for pistons. I'd use the smaller ring package for less parasitic drag.

    With an 8.2" deck height block I'd stick with a 3.4" stroke & a 1.10 or 1.09 c/h piston.

Which block are you going to use?
