Nice run, what was the ET/MPH.
My foot was buried through the firewall on each shift so the hesitation your hearing is a tuning issue or a clutch issue. I got alot more testing to do to get it figured out. There a TON more left in the car. With 3 crappy shakedown passes in the 98 degree heat the best I could manage was 7.36 @ 97mph w/ a 1.59 60'
Lots more to come!
Joe, Yes they are brand new Mickey Thompson ET Drags 28 x 10.5 Stiffwall
Looks to be around 11.30's in the 1/4mile. Should have alot more in it and it's gonna need it to go 10.0's
Absolutely! The car has a ton left in it, this was the cars first trip down the
Track in over 2 years and it has a brand new engine...tranny...suspension...
Fuel system...rearend....tires...etc....basically the whole car is brand new.
Once I get the hesitation figured out I'm sure that will pick the car up a good bit.
Lots of testing to do before I get this car down into the mid 10's in the 1/4
i think with some more gear and get that hesitation figured out ,the et's will drop a good bit

What ignition/2step are you running? I think it will hit 10.50's once you getting it figured out.
I may have to step up my 4.88's to a 5.13 or so depending
On how fast the car eventually goes. Don't forget this engine was
Built to run some big time nitrous on it! I'm going to continue to run it
N/A this year though as my racing budget is drying up quick.
I have a msd 6al and a msd 2step that I'm currently running.
I believe the car will go 10.50s in some cooler weather once I get the car sorted out.
As for now I have a lot of testing to do in the next month before pinks gets here!
Went today and did a bunch of testing....probably made 7-8 hits total
What I have learned:
Car will not rev over 7500, once it hits 7500 it hitting a limit somewhere....in the msd 6al or in the sct chip
SGS told me he set it to 8500 so im not understanding this.....
I tried short shifting the car at 6000-6500-7000 and it hit the same limiter on each shift.
I disconected the 2-step and tried everything with the same results.
I tried a 5400 pill in the msd just for ####s & giggles to see if it where it would hit and it hit dead nuts on at 5400.
I honestly dont know whether:
1. My distributor is cutting out and I need a new msd or summit brand distributor
2. My MSD 6AL is cutting out and I need a new one. I can get a digital 6 box for $190 shipped but dont want to buy without knowing its the ignition box for sure.
3. Possibly my TFI module that I now have mounted inside my fender. Its a newer unit that I put on a few years ago.
4. My stock computer....
5. The tune on my sct chip
Wolfpack Speed has offered to go through my chip and make a few small adjustments on things that he believes would help and burn it on a "better" Diablosport chip and give it to me to try. That way if it doesnt work I still have my SCT chip to fall back on.
Help...guidance...advise...critisism.....anything would be appreciated at this point.
Here's the Summit brand distributor im looking at:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-850410/
And here's the MSD:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8455/
The Summit brand one is $85 cheaper and truthfully looks like the MSD so I wouldnt be suprised if MSD makes them for Summit and lets them market it as their own.
I dont want to go buying part that I dont need or have the money for that matter so what are some suggestions?
If anybody local has a distributor or ignition box for me to try I would greatly appreciate it!

The 1-2 shift sounded clean on this pass. But then the 2-3 had the bug. What rpm did you pull 2nd? Also, what max rpm are you at in the water box? Try bypassing the MSD ignition and run the stock ignition.

Thats the 1 and only pass I ever had a "clean" non-hesitant shift and it was at 6800-6900
I made multiple hits today at that rpm and lower and had the hesitation/ stutter.
My 2nd gear burnouts are made in the 5000-5500 range.
Im going to try the stock ignition and see what it does.
Robert,I have a TFI module and the module from the distributor that I can ship to your house to try out and see if these are the culprit.
This is just a thought, but with you spinning this new combo much higher than the previous ones, have you checked the shaft in the distributor for excessive wear. I'm thinking the shaft may be wobbling causing erratic contact at the rotor??
