    Wheel studs breaking?

put this up on the corral the other day and got no replies so i'll try here. Im just curious as to how often they break because i have 5/8 studs in the rear but the only wheels i have that fit are the prostars. i was wondering if i could put the stock size stud back in and not have to worry about it breaking if i bought another set of prostars and MT E.T. Streets for the track so i could also run a full set of FR 500's for street driving. Also consider the rules for the tracks as im not well informed about them if there is a restriction on size or anything. BTW im putting down about 550 to the wheels with Kenne Bell 2.6, built rear, subframes, bolt in cage, and tko 600. any input you guys have on this will be appreciated

IMO, stock sized ARP studs will hold 550 HP no problem.

you could always have the holes in the wheels drilled out. but it will mess up the finish on the wheels

yea i thought about that, but then if i ever wanted to sell them or trade they would be pretty much worthless. thats good to hear about stock size studs! thanks for the input so far guys!

IMO, 1/2" ARP studs are fine for your application. I've been low 1.3x's on them, wheel hop is the enemy though...I never had any

Exactly, I upgraded to 5/8" after seeing a guy shear off 1/2" studs with wheel-hop on DRs.
