    Engine rust

IF I had a shortblock laying around, what would be the best thing to use on it so it doesn't rust? Does a light spray of PB Blast work? Thanks

I would think something that has an oil base. Then wrap it tight in a plastic bag. The best thing would be cover it in grease, but that would be a bear to get off later. Maybe wd-40?

use wd40 in all the cylinders and wrap it in a plastic bag. dont use pbblaster.

if its going to sit for a really long time i would go back every few weeks and respray the cylinders as well

x2 on the WD-40 and plastic bag. Use a whole can and suck as much air out of the bag as possible to help cut down on the chance of condensation.

I like the spray on cosmoline(lene)not sure of the exact spelling, and then double plastic bag it. We used alot of it when I worked at the machine shop.
