    2003 SB Cobra, 18' trailer, 03 F250 - Cheap!

Again, I have decided to sell my baby. I do not want to, and love dragging the car, but with some personal family health issues, I think I should. My wife has malignant colon cancer, and must undergo some operations, etc. We don't need the money for bills, but I believe I must change my personal priorities.

I haven't put together a big mod list or a bunch of pics. I'll be happy to supply as many pics, vids, or info as anyone could ever want. One could search on Modularfords.com for Ratt Fink, and find a multitude of pics and info on the car... she has been called a test-bed for many racing parts ! Searching RealRattFink on YouTube will yield a bunch of vids, both racing and not, of the car. My goal was to make this car shine, in some way, and give her a bit of limelight, after she took a little hit in 2003, and I walked away without a scratch. I believe I have done just that. She has run at the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, the World Ford Challenge in St.Louis, at several different Fun Ford Weekend races in Texas and Louisiana, along with Clash of the Titans events. I have thoroughly enjoyed it !

I can also supply a Car Fax if wanted. Currently has 14,940 miles on the odometer, and about 500 miles on the engine that was freshened in July 2008. As mentioned, the car was wrecked in 2003, but it does not even show up on the Car Fax. I have no idea why not. I have the clean title... not a salvage title.

I would entertain some type of trade for a totally non-racing Cobra, preferably Sonic Blue. But, I am willing to sell the car for $23K... or $24.5K with an 18ft car hauler trailer. If you really want it, and think you can drive it, make me a serious offer, and let's see your stuff ! I'd love to see her go faster with a younger, better driver. And, if a 2003 Sonic Blue F250 7.3L diesel tow vehicle (93K miles) is needed, well I have that too. For $36K total, you can have the whole setup... car, trailer, F250.

PM or E-Mail fjrose@flash.net if interested. Make some offers.

Here is her best pass ever...

I have the car listed on a few other forums, but you will not see the price this cheap on any of those. For my PA buds...

$32K for the whole deal (2003 Sonic Blue F250 7.3L deisel, 18ft car hauler trailer, 2003 Sonic Blue Cobra)

Fly in to Houston Hobby, I'll pick you up, and you can drive the rig back to PA and get ready to start racing !

    I'll kick in a couple jugs of C16 !

It was built to run the "Clash of the Titans" 10 sec class, a Texas/Oklahoma series, or Mod Motor in the Fun Ford Weekend series. Unfortunately, both of those promoters have folded. It will work nicely in the Modular Madness class of NMRA as well.
It could be used as a Super Street car in NHRA (10.90 class), or could have more cage added and run the Super Gas (9.90 class) by going ahead and taking out some more weight... S/G would be hard to win with a 6-spd, though !!
So, for the last little while, she has been a player in the TnT class on Friday nights at Houston Raceway Park ! LOL !! I have never gotten serious about winning races, therefore the 6-spd has stayed in for the fun of it !

By the way, either of those ringers could drive this baby to some nice ETs !

It is setting in my garage on street tires right now. I swapped out the spool for the Detroit locker, and it is far easier to drive on the street. However, this is NO daily driver. It is a weekend warrior. Currently, I do not even have a street tune, but with 25 psi boost, that would be a waste. I had a local young man wanting to buy it to drive to college, and race on the street, but I really talked him out of it. He would have wound up getting killed, IMO.

In order to make a DD out of this car, I believe the cams need to come out, the boost needs to be lowered, and the clutch swapped to a more streetable composition disk type.

It would def not be a daily driver.. I am just looking for something that will be mostly track, but i could still get in and drive 1 and half to my parents house or even just to work on nice days.. It seems like this car would be alil too much for that to be done..

Good Luck with the sale James.. Great deal you have sitting there.

Here are a couple vids of the car on the street... even on the freeway:

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOvYf3lI5OU[/ame] 44 mile ride
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrbfCNrfZPQ[/ame] 25 mile ride
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdlYGciyS5s[/ame] idling after that cruise

At a little outdoor car show next day after running the 9.894...
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzJ2hRpVJj0[/ame]

So, the car doesn't overheat and runs just fine down the road. Certainly, she runs straight (remember, 140 mph on the strip). The cams make her cold-natured, and the clutch takes practice to learn to drive. There is no A/C (does have heater), no P/S, and no power brakes... again doesn't bother me, but many folks need that kinda stuff. Still has power windows and locks !

We thank you, Lou. Certainly, we are hoping and praying for this to be a short-term issue. But, we also know that she lost her mother to the same thing. So, it is not so clear. In any case, it is better if I re-arrange my priorities, and be an even better grandpa to my 10-yr-old grandson and 15- month-old granddaughter.
I was sure hoping ta get ta race with you northern boys again one day, but that is slipping away, durnit !
