Well, I partially agree with you here. Aside from the Chevy truck my father-in-law GAVE me, I would never own or buy a piece of shit from the general. If another one was given to me, I would probably crush it with my bull dozer at work.

Sadly I do own a GM and a dodge but they were purchased 5 years ago before the govt takeover, never again.

I actually looked at Toyotas before buying my truck (F150).

Not to knock Toyota, but you start to play with the big dogs, ya gotta have the bite to back up the bark.

The frames on the Japanese full-size trucks are jokes compared to any of the domestics. Powertrains are stout though, but time will tell if the trans/rearends will actually stand up to all the horsepower, like the domestics generally do when people actually use them.

we had a tacoma for awhile, it came into the garage with some small issues and we bought and fixed it. 50,000 miles on it and a huge hole rusted in the frame by the fuel tank. not mention is was the most guttless POS I ever drove.

I have picked up countless mid 80's japanese trucks that had such badly rusted frames, I couldn't even chain them down on my trailer by the frame. Had to go through the front control arms and rear axle. Only one domestic I've ever had that problem with, a badly abused 88 Chevy 1500 that had apparently been parked in a salt bath for every one of its 12 years.
