Twin Turbo 03 Cobra: Looking for advise

    http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...40hp-pump.html

    Hi guys,
I'm looking to get everyone opinion on the attached 03 TT Cobra 4 sale in Michigan. This seems really cheap for this car. Can someone that know's alot about these cars look at the parts list and give me your opinion. It appears the car was built very well.

Is a combination like this dependable for street driving and long trips, a few hundered miles? I'm thinking about getting rid of the Fox in favor of this car but don't want another racey street car. Does anyone know Fastlane performance? Do they good work or have a good reputation? Something just seems fishy about the price, 24K and I think I could get it for $22K. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks Terminator guys:::

Fastlane is a great shop, atleast from what i have seen and read..I think they have one of the fastest TB ss in the country.. I heard great things from the gm crowd about these guys..
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeXatsRABIA&feature=channel[/ame]

That seems like an awesome deal to me.. There has been alot of great deals out there for people looking..

Also looks to be a good solid car.. Im assuming the car is still on pump gas so that is a plus and to have the much hp.. And from what he is saying its been on a few road trips. And the car is in Illionis now

I cant tell you how many times someone has brought a recently purchased used mustang to my shop only to discover what they got and what they thought they were getting was two totally different things! Regardless of what the ad says or what the car looks like, you must go inspect the car.

Thanks guys: I def plan on inspecting the car top to bottom. I just talked to the owner, Brandon from Chicago. He said it drives like a stock Cobra. This is a big concern because I don't want nothing too racey, stinky, or loud as the kids will be cruising in the car. One question I had was who builds a twin turbo Cobra to not run it at the track. Kind of confusing.

Question: What's the best choice, Whipple, KB, or TTurbo? I'm sure there's pros and cons of each.

To me, its not that unbelievable... i built a twin turbo LS1 Trans Am and had no intentions of going to the track... its a REALLY REALLY fun vehicle on the street....

And yes, there's pros and cons to each.... and i don't have time to list them all out.... positive displacement supercharger is definitely going to be a lot of fun... tons of low end torque to fish-tail at every single intersection.... turbos make enormous torque numbers as well, but they build power almost exponentially... it comes in hard and just builds and builds and builds.... i think its a bit easier to keep traction with a turbo car.... Also, with turbo builds, if it has an electronic boost controller, and a good tune, you can adjust the boost up and down on the fly with a simple press of a button.... Also, with turbo cars you can run a higher gear in the rear of the car, which helps load the turbos, and also gives you obvious gas mileage advantage - which i'm guessing matters atleast a little to you, since you want it to be a stock like street car.... I got 32-34mpg on the highway in my T/A....

The pros and cons of each go on and on and on.... your best bet is to do a bunch of research on the net and choose for yourself what's best for you

Many people do, there are way more dyno queens running around then race cars! As far as the different power adders, they are all good, just depends on how well the car is setup and built, personal preference etc...

i know nothing about turbos, so i can not help out there

the only time i have seen fastlane stuff was at mustang week. there was a kid who had a very similar looking car and beat the living crap out of it. i think he was from NC though.

    Fastlane has a good rep.

    Kurgan has a good rep.

THP is the only turbo system I would do.

Price seems very cheap for the car.

That is a really good deal for that price, assuming the car checks out in person and is mechanically sound. Hell, that Sullivan intake setup alone goes for roughly $1k, not to mention all the other money dumped into it. Plus you can never beat the looks of a black terminator with the 18" 03 reps

I appreciate everyones opinion. I may fly out to Chicago this weekend to look at the car, we'll see.

PJ, The original owner of the car was from North Carolina. He lost both of his jobs at the same time so he sold it to a guy in Michigan who sold it a short time later to the current owner. It's been retuned a few times, that's kind of scary.

there's a real nice silver 04 on SVTPerf with a Whipple for $21K w/ 19's. We'll see, I'm in no rush. There's a ton of these things for sale.

IMO, I would get a nice low mile non modded one and go from there. These cars are a blast to mod and it doesn't take alot of cash to make them rip.

Man that does seem like a deal! Without a doubt go look at it and drive it! Perhaps even have a mech go over it compression check,etc... while you are there looking at it! Good luck either way! Terry
