New topic in the staging lanes ... Chuck's wheel wells :D

Your running a slick now right? ... blast them a few times with rubber, won't be able to see anything after that. the good news is with the holes filled in you might be able to see inside the car

Another 12 hour thrashing yesterday and the metal work is done. Got the filler work done on driverside. Just needs primed/sanded few times. Car just needs axles and it will be ready for track.

Ed was goal oriented on Saturday.... I think he's tired of coming to my lovely neighborhood. :D

Ed, thank you for everything. When I say I couldn't have done this without you, I mean it. After all, you saw my attempts to apply the All Metal.

The inner wheelwell and trunk floor patches on the driver's side:

Used the All Metal to seal off the holes on the inner that didn't really need patched, just as protection:

All Metal coat to seal the seam:

All the coats of Bondo applied and sanded. Silver for the All Metal, yellow for the Bondo with its hardener, green for the Bondo using the EverCoat hardener (set the Bondo up faster), red for the glazing/spot putty.

That was all on Saturday. With it welded up, and the panel ready for priming and wet sanding, Ed is done. So it's all on me now. Painted the wheelwell and the bottom of the patches from the trunk floor and extension now that it's all seam sealed. Hopefully I get my axles this week, change the oil, get a fan belt on it, and go racing this weekend. My buddy is supposed to be getting me Tahitian Turquoise in spray cans from Lloyd's in McKees Rocks; they can put stock colors in spray cans. If I have them this week, great. If not, the primer will do for now. I want to race! Next year it will get a real paint job after we fix the fenders, doors, and roof. First coat of filler primer on, will wet sand and reapply tonight.

Whole album is below, in the order of the days of work. Still more to come, as I get paint on it, and do something with the trunk floor and finally paint the roll bar.

Lloyd's in McKees Rocks puts stock colors in spray cans $20 a can. 3 cans per side, turned out ok I think. It's hard to tell in the garage under the halogens. I need to see it in natural light. I also need to wash the car, since we have all kinds of dust over all over it. Regardless, I'm thrilled to have good metal with good protection on it.

You can see the seam here, but I don't know if it's the angle coupled with the harsh halogen light.

    You can't see it here.

Yep, spray cans. I'll post Lloyd's number once I remember to grab the receipt out of the box in the garage. It sprayed on real nice. My mistake was that I should have spritzed some water down on the floor. Going from side to side was enough to kick up dust and lint that did settle in the paint. Hopefully some of it will wash out. I'm not too concerned though. This paint is just to get me through this season, and then hopefully next off season we'll finish the rest of the car, taking the vinyl off the roof, go over the doors and fenders.

Ed did all the hard work, I just tried to stay out of his way.

Take your paint code to them, and they'll put it in spray cans for you. Mine were $19.50 per can.

Still plugging along. All the rain this spring has taken away some of my motivation. Racing 4 days this weekend, and I plan to be there in the Cutlass. I need to put a belt on, put the taillights in, put the seat in, and I'm good to go. I finished up the trunk last night, with the oval drain plugs, after painting the trunk Rustoleum hammertone silver. I kinda wish I had painted the inner wheelwells and hinge supports while the quarters were off, but this will work fine for me. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do with the inside of the quarters.
