2010 Winter Olympics thread

So what does everyone think of the Olympics so far?

This is the first games I've gotten to see uninterrupted, and i'm really happy with the coverage up here. A lot of action and tons of events are covered extensively. Also far FAR fewer commercials up here vs the states.

I saw the women's hockey game Canada vs Slovakia. 18-0 rout. Next up is switzerland! Its going to be a bloodbath. The men start play tomorrow.

That brings up the best part of these games... twice as many excuses to celebrate

I've been watchin'em a bit off and on. Pretty exciting too. Congrats and real glad to see Canada got their first gold metal while holding them in their country!

Holy crap the Canadian women's team is rockin!

They're up 9-1 against the swiss and they scored 2 goals in 16 seconds, with the 3rd to make it 9-1 another 40 seconds later.

russia looks good but both the USA and Canada had great first games.

USA looked alright. I don't think they have the firepower to hang with canada though..

I originally thought the Russians would easily win the gold in hockey, now I'm thinking Canada will, 2nd and 3rd either US or Russia. Hard to believe Morozov is the captain for the Russians.

I tried watching curling last night. The game is cool and all but the announcing is torture. Nothing like someone restating the obvious over and over. Mute it.
