    Pickup Ramp Kit

Anyone have experience with the truck ramp end kits available?
Lowes has one for $23 - I'm just wondering if there is anything better available. I figure I grab two 2x10s and and end kit and I'm all set?

    Here's the link:

A buddy of mine said he uses them, along with tie-down straps to keep the ramps tight to the tailgate, which sounds like a good idea. I'm wondering if any of the kits out there have a quick & easy way to hook up a strap to do this? Maybe it would be better for me to remove the tailgate and just put the metal ramp end right onto the truck bed?

Any input you have would be appreciated.

    Thanks folks!

I never really liked them cause they could slip away. I have a 3 fold ramp i bought at PEP BOYS. it works good with 1/2 tons and smaller. My F250 superduty works but is preety steep angle

I use those with pressure treated 2X8's to load my quad in the back of my superduty. works very well. I only cut enough off the wood so they are still 8 feet long with the metal pieces attached, that way the length allows for a ramp that isnt extremely steep. I would have the aluminum folding jobs, but things leeft in the back of the truck seem to disappear when it parked and I'm riding in the woods.
