i dont know about good looks(very funny)but it was a great diet plan. I lost 30 pounds in a month and those legs you once commented on are now a lot smaller.

In the summer of 08 my mom went into septic shock due to a kidney stone blocking one of her kidneys. The hospital initially thought it was the flu, with 12 hrs of being rushed there she was in the ICU where she stayed for 5 weeks, then out, then back in. For about 10 days she was in an induced coma, while they fought to keep all her other organs from failing. In all it was about 6 months in the hospital/nursing home. She's home now about 80lbs thinner, able to walk again, 90% use of her hands and stone free. Like others have said, it really puts things into perspective. Health insurance is a big topic, don't let it sway your view of what nurses and doctors do everyday to help loved ones, I can't thank some of them enough.

I'm sorry to hear so many of you folks have had a tough time lately with various medical issues. I tried to be a little funny earlier in the thread and I hope that didn't offend any of you. I know how serious any medical problem can be, and I'm glad to hear all of you are on the road to recovery. A close friend of mine at work went in for hernia surgery and ran into complications due to septic shock after they nicked her intestine during the procedure. She nearly lost her life and spent a great deal of time in the hospital and even longer recovering at home. Fortunately she has been back to work for some time now, and is doing great. But like many of you said, it sure puts everything into perspective.

All of you take care and get well soon. Someday spring will finally arrive...
