1 thing to think about - i don't knwo what your financial situation is but.... i'm assuming that you've paid for all of your current mods and don't owe any money on them... if you sell your car, and have to finance $30K+, that's a big car payment... are you sure you want to take that on?? Plus a GT500 likely has higher insurance rates than a stock mustang GT (which is how the insurance company sees your car)... Assuming that GT500 owners are like Corvette owners, insurance rates should be relatively decent... however, i don't know if theres' enough base experience out there to set a rate with high credibility... so the rates on GT500's may be based entirely on factory HP, etc. and not what the pool's Actuarial Future Value of losses will be throughout a year on an experience basis
    Good point's ....

If anyone can have a GT500 why don't you see them on the road?

GT500's can be classified as "specialty cars" with some insurance companies. As long as you have a DD you qualify. I have a good driving record and carry high coverages (100k-300k full tort) and I only pay $400 a year with unlimited miles. Best part is we agreed on a value so if my car is totaled or stolen I get $45k minus my $100 deductible!

Didn't mean to offend you by any means.

I'm only stating that anyone can go out and buy a lamborghini, nsx, or gt500. Not everybody can go out, buy a gt, then continue to supercharge and build it. His car right now gets recognized with respect I'm sure because people see how much time and money he has put into his car. If he were to get a base gt500 then people wouldn't necessarily admire it as much, but simply see it as a guy with some money.

Now if they saw a highly modded shelby.....

You have that backwards.. Anybody can buy a gt and mod it like he has for basically 1/16 the price of a lambo/nsx/ c6 z06/gt 500... Mods can be bought over time a 1000 month car payment needs to be paid every month. Why do you think you see more modded mustangs/trans am/camaros/cobras than you see ferraris/lambos/porsche.. Anybody can buy a 20k or less vehicle and mod it, very few people can pay 100+k for a car

ANSWER: Yes, it is too much. Not being a dick, just an honest answer.

I agree....when did this become about how much money you have? My comment above reflected the "there's an ass for every seat". Never hurts to try selling it for what you want, you may wait a long while, but if your in no hurry, who cares?
Hell I sold a 1982 Golf cart for $2700....was it worth it, no way but I found the "ass for the seat".

Scott I think what street591 is trying to say is, some guys have the money to BUY a race car, but no ability to BUILD a race car.
