Well, as some of you may know I was cooking for the past couple months after being laid off at the Dodge dealer. Finally found something worth it, a company called Liberty U.S.A in West Mifflin. I was originally supposed to be a "Bulk Stocker" but somehow ended up being a Bulk Order Picker/Filler. The Order picking job makes more because of incentives, its somewhat hard work but so far it's not too bad! This is my first job having benefits, 401K and ESOP(Employee Stock Ownership Program). I'm positive I'll stick with this company for quite sometime, see if I can't move up in the ranks. I plan on going to school at the start of next year, to either be a RN or going to school for HVAC/R. Not a lot of money my way(for sure wasnt born into it) so I gotta' punch the clock to make things happen for myself. Almost feels that much better when its accomplished. Anyhow, heres a picture of where I work and to give you an idea of what I do.
I first get a stack of papers (usually from 300-500 pages thick) of orders to fulfill. They come in Waves, and usually there are 8 waves per day. One wave may consist of 85 pages, or it could be 45. Sundays/Mondays are the worst days. I did 404 pages today, and 430ish yesterday. I didnt get out today until around 2am (started at 4.)
I'm really excited for this job, and I dont wake up hating it everyday. its very repaticious but it pays the bills, and with the extra incentives I'll have some more to possibly sink into something fun (car, my own place, BILLS lol, ect.) Does anyone else do this type of work, or anything along the lines of this?
Start at the right side, and end up on the left side, and do it over a billion times before the days over. lol.
