Anyone know how these work. I had the engine and tranny out along with the complete interior. Hoping i just forgot to hook up a connector some where. Or is it possible i need a new instrument cluster?

what year is the car? check the VSS wire

If its in the cluster (94-98) i know what parts you need to fix it. Its rather expensive, about $50 to replace the gears you need. Let me know if it doesn't work after you plug everything in and I can help you. Very easy install.

i do have a 94. So i'll pull the plug off the back of the cluster and check pin 5(gray and black for power. And this wire controls both of them?
yes thats the wire your looking for, if you had the transmission out I would check to make sure the speed sensor got plugged in. did you change trannys?

No same 1. it was just easier to remove it too.
Just got to checking the wires behing the cluster. No power on the vss.
