    Replacement front rotors for fox's

    I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the slotted/dimpled replacement rotors ie powerslot, factory replacement Brembo or performance plus types. I understand the best options are brembo, wilwood, baer etc with larger sized rotors, and dual piston calipers. For street driving and occasional track duty is it worth getting? The price is generally in the $300 and under range with pads. The stock fox brakes have never really been the greatest I do understand.

    The fox 10.87" rotors and accompanying calipers were inadequate from the gate. Increasing the swept area i.e., greater diameter will help tremendously to cut speed in one of the heaviest fox platforms (read:convertible.)

    Are you eluding to autocrossing when you mention track duty? If not, many of the tracks including prp offer decent shutdown area. I've personally seen a fox body running near 125 mph in the 1/4 utillizing the stock braking system.

    Repeated stops evoke brake fade quite readily with the stock system. Brake fluid boiling point also contributes to fade and should be changed. The cycling (hot to cold) of the fluid lowers the boiling point.

    If I was going to do it on the cheap, I'd concentrate on the front being it handles the majority of % of braking.

    anytime that you can improve on the stopping in a car, its a good thing. also, the slotted/drilled rotors will desipate the heat/gases better, to increase your stopping. I do know, from research on them, that some of the cheaper drilled rotors have cracked. nothing like dangerous, just small hairline stuff that really would effect much at all.

    I bought a set of slotted rotors from LMM over 2 years ago..and all I can say is they kick ASS...they stop me from 140+ MPH and never warped and I have never had them cut....they work! Fox Mustang's had "push and pray" brakes to begin with
    I run stock drum rear (that ill bet are bairly helping due to the adjusters not working) and the fronts are stock other than the slotted
    buy good brake pads and slotted rotors and call it a day
