Thanks. Here's a link to a thread that I started on the boot:

    http://www.fordgt500.com/forums/show...highlight=pics

I’ve never really been thrilled with my GT500's interior. The red leather inserts helped and compliments the red exterior, or vice versa, but I thought that the interior of my 07 GT, with the IUP/PTP, looked much better. An item that I never liked was the shifter boot.

While my car is relatively new, the OEM boot looked weathered and the color neither matched my seats nor my steering wheel. While all leather products have various unique characteristics, the shifter boot looked cheap IMO.

With no intentions of breaking the bank, I started to search for a replacement that would better match my interior. I ultimately had the boot custom made by Redline Goods: http://www.redlinegoods.com/shiftboot.htm. I ordered black leather, with red stitching, and a red perforated leather stripe insert similar in appearance to my seats. The grain, texture, and color are a near perfect match. I’m very pleased with the quality of the leather and craftsmanship; as well as the quick turn around (1 week).

Instructions for installation are as followed:

    1) Unscrew the shifter knob (righty tighty, lefty loosey) and lifted-up on the boot and boot frame.

    2) Release the knob from the boot. It is held in place with a rubber band type fastener.

    3) Carefully peel the OEM boot from the boot frame. It is held in place by glue and secured by cut-out slots over plastic clips on the bottom of the frame.

    4) Remove excess glue from the frame and lightly sand.

    5) Take the new Redline Goods boot and turn it inside out and secure the knob using either the OEM rubber fastener, nylon zip-tie, twist-tie, etc., and pull the knob back through the boot.

    6) Apply glue to the top and bottom of frame and attached the boot to the plastic clips. I used an adhesive/caulk (Polyseamseal), which worked fine.

    7) Work the boot around frame the firmly press the leather to the glued areas.

    8) Stabilized the boot while the glue cures (about 12 hours). Note: I placed weights on top so that the leather would stay pressed against the frame for better adhesion.

    9) Once the glue is dried, position the boot over the shifter and screw the knob back onto the threaded shaft.

    10) Press the boot frame back into the console cut-out.

Note: Instructions are also posted on the Redline Goods site: http://www.redlinegoods.com/Mustang05install.shtm

Conclusion: I highly recommend this affordable and simple mod that really adds to the overall appearance of the interior. You will not be disappointed.

Like I said in my e-mail ... Razors look good but they are only offered in a 9" wide wheel. If I was to do it over again I would get Shelby CS40's. The CS69's look pretty good too.

The S1s come in 20" X 10"... maybe go with a 305, or sneak up to a 315. I really do like the Razors better though w/ 24 offset in the front and 40s in the rear... thinking about widening them to 11"s... IDK. Do you have any pics of your car w/ the Razors? I'd love to see them on your car. How far do the 285s go beyond the fender(s) with the 6" back spacing (24 offset). If I go with the 40 offset for the rears (wheels still at 9"/not widen), then the 285s should remain within the fenders... think? Thanks.

11 will require some mod's to the suspension but man does a 305 or 315 look sweet from the rear!

My 285's stick out about 1/2 inch or so ....

Your car looks good, you can fit the 305's on the razors. They stick out some but look good, and if your lucky like me they rolled the fenders perfectly while driving :D

I realized that as soon as I sent the message. Car looks great! What size tires did you have on the Razors in the first few pictures. They looked to fit perfectly. I assume that you added the 285s later... w/ possibly the M/Ts?

Looks good. Are they 305/30s or 35s? What do you mean rolling your fenders... rubbing? Also, do your Razors have 24 offset (6" backspacing) on the rear. With a 40 offset they would seem to fit inside the fenders better... or not.
