Got the final 2 tires, ready for Beaver Run!

This week we got 2 more tires. Last summer we replaced 2 tires with Hankook Ventus V12 110 ultra performance tires. We pulled the car out 2 weeks ago and did the Arospace brakes conversion from the drag race brakes to the street brakes and while there rotated the new tires from late last summer to the front axle and put the old-old tires onto the rear axle. Boy, they suck. The Hankooks really do a better job of hooking up the car. Do not confuse this with actually hooking up... but much better than the tire that was on it when we got the car.

So we ordered 2 more of the Hankooks so we have a matched set for use at Beaver Run (Road Course). To be mounted this weekend, or maybe the following... after a celebration of tire smoke issued out to formally end the life of the old tires that are on the rear axle.

Nice, my buddy just had these put on his 99' SVT Cobra before he totalled it. He ran 12.5 in the 1/4 on nitrous too w/ them. I was really surprised when I felt them after his runz, they actually felt like a set of sticky Drag Radials.

Snake, do you plan on doing a Flat Out Friday? If so let me know and i'll try and go too. I have a couple of F.O.F under my belt. They are a blast.

Not sure when the car will be at the track. When its there I'll be there with my father. He is the official driver! I'm the wrench, he's the parts buster. We've run things this way for 10 or so years.... I'm 38 and he's 61, I'll have plenty of time to drive once he decides he can no longer handle it. Maybe what 10 more years, 15 tops? LOL... not that I am looking forward to my father getting old, but it does happen to even the best of us!

I will alert you when we know for sure that we are going to the track. The tires are not mounted yet, there are still a couple burnouts left on the other tires!

Damn! I didn't figure you'd be going this soon. My car is having issues and will hopefully be in the shop getting fixed. I may come out to watch in the GN thou. I know you will be hooked. Make sure you have a full faced helmet and the interior of your car has know loose objects on the floor or seats. Wear long pants too.
